When I heard this live at Victorious while The Albion were getting beat by West Ham it just confirmed how music trumps football every time.

You raise a very interesting point. Live music and live football are among my favourite things, as underscored by how bereft I felt when Covid came along and robbed us of both. But given the choice between a gig and a match, I’ll take the gig every time. Football, as wonderful and communal as it is, still requires that great result to maximise the enjoyment. Gigs hardly ever let me down.

That said, I still don’t think you can beat The Reinelt Moment for the single biggest concentrated spasm of pure joy.

Sits on top of my shelf like a very fine whisky. I rarely take a listen but when I do, it’s profound bliss.

quite jazzy album, we're playing a few tracks in my latest outfit.
it certainly fits my criteria for a classic:
1) Is it a masterpiece?
2) does it contain a virtuoso performance? and,
3) does it hold personal significance?

(dig your choice too btw!)

that is a beautiful piece indeed but depressing as all buggery , I remember when my sister in law had a miscarriage she listened to Eric Satie continuously for weeks , it was heavy. Send in the clowns by Julis Covington as well
