Again.

The new UK pricing is Standard with adverts: £5.99/month (a £1 increase); Standard: £12.99/month (a £2 increase) and Premium for £18.99/month (a £1 increase).

We cancelled our Netflix account late last year after seeing the news of price increases elsewhere in the world. Not to mention Netflix are notorious for cancelling shows seemingly on a whim.

Worked out that for various streaming and subscription services we were paying close to £100 a month and not really engaging with a lot of it. £12.99 may not seem like much but combined with Disney+, Prime, NowTV, Spotify and whatever else it soon adds up.

Still good value if you just go for the basic and just hop on and off a month at a time when there's anything you really want to watch. I do the same with Disney+ etc.

It only really gets pricey if you have multiple subscriptions rolling on month after month.

We were watching a series, forget now what it was, but series 1 & 2 were free (included) but series 3 onwards cost extra. We now check all shows are free before starting anything.

Yeah I've started to check if a series has either concluded or has a next season scheduled before starting. I can't bear watching something, getting invested in the story and then it being left on a cliffhanger or something.

I still think it's decent value.
Lots to watch.

Disney+ is probably better value and eventually will have to make a choice between one or the other.
I think Netflix's content will win out though.

I often see BBC IPlayer and ITV X and wonder why folk would need Netflix. There is so much good stuff on those two. If people have Amazon subscriptions then Netflix is really redundant unless there is a specific series they want.

I agree @Eeyore I think the way to surf these channels increasingly is to binge each for a month during a free trial, and then switch off for a year or two. Why people say the TV licence is expensive when comparably streaming and satellite services can soon amount to 4 figures (and still loads of rubbish!) I'll never understand. More impartial than most, the BBC News division is worth it alone compared to e.g. FOX, GB News etc
