Thought she deserves her own thread.
Too indecisive to expect a lettuce lifetime.
You have to actually do something to get sacked.
Her latest piece of monumental political cut and thrust was to attack the PM for using a vocal coach.
Like Thatcher did.
On a day when Trump suggests America should buy Gaza and turn it into the New Torremolinos.
Let's see how the great leader of the wrong, sorry, the right, fares over the next little while.
Bungalow, as in nothing upstairs, in case you're wondering.

It does rather seem they are more wrapped up in out righting the Reform Party at the moment as much as attacking the government. I can't really see a clear way for them now.

Even when she seems to make a valid point (such as the effect of high net migration on housing and public services) she feels like a clanging symbol on a quiet night. I think this is because a lot of what is said is off the hoof.

She's a political child and was the final nail in the coffin of what was my party membership.
I hope the blues can rise to something again.
Heath versus Wilson was grown up politics, with a shared vision of decency, despite the post war tomfoolery of inherited wealth versus unions.

Ironically Starmer is mocked for not being a gobshite.
Badenough pretending all our woes are down to six months of a Labour government fools nobody.

Perhaps the dust may settle in a couple of years.
I just hope no 'leader' decides that 'thinking the unthinkable' (annexing Scotland and creating the world's biggest golf course, etc.)
is the way forward.
Dig up Sussex for oil and coal!
Bomb France.
Yay!

I hope we political adversaries can meet on a plateau of civility at some point

With all the problems the Government are facing. I suspect Starmer gets up in morning with the relief that at least Badenoch is leader of the opposition.

Devoid of humour, spiteful and repetitive at least Starmer can just about deliver a bad joke.

Not so Cleverly would have a better choice for the party at the despatch box.

She'll be gone by the next election.

I predicted before the last election that the Tories will go on a journey of discovery to find out what they are. As per usual initially go nasty but Reform will always out nasty them if that's your political persuasion.

If I was them I'd be attacking Reform rather than trying to be them.

I know what you mean, but if you were thinking of following Charlton or Millwall, would your decision be swayed by the sight of a Millwall and a Dulwich Hamlet top boy trying to knife one another?

The thing about Hamlet, sorry, Reform, is they have nothing, have done nothing, have never played in front of a meaningful crowd, and nobody knows anything about them.

Fighting that is is like trying to punch clouds.

Still.... it could be quite amusing to watch.

Her latest piece of monumental political cut and thrust was to attack the PM for using a vocal coach.

The vocal coach who was previously working from home during lockdown, who was not actually employed by the Labour Party and who travelled from tier3 lockdown into a tier 4 lockdown area for a face to face with Sir Keir on the day that all politicians are famous for working on….. CHRISTMAS EVE !! 😆

No nothing to see here ! Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think he should lose his job for breaking lockdown rules whilst having an affair… to be honest I thought it was a bit harsh when that other political middleweight Hancock lost his job for the same thing.

As for Kemi? Well a middleweight at best I think, she will play Nick Clegg to Farage’s Cameron no doubt

Hancock lost his job for snogging his mistress at work and getting caught on cctv.

Whether it broke rules or not (be hard to prove if they were in a long running relationship) it would have been impossible for him to stay on the front bench.

Johnson was minded to forgive him, but the blue rinse members wanted him gone.

Your first paragraph was too nuanced for me to follow.
It reminded me a bit of the Roy Keane thing about thinking the referee is a ****.
I think Starmer may have something something but it would be foolish and pointless to say it.

And, in the spirit of current political arse-hattery, I would like to deny that there is any evidence that Starmer has had an affair.
The suggestion has been overstated.
And if it were true, what has this to do with his incompetence as a PM?

@Justice will be along in a minute to tell us that he has heard it from a good sauce that Starmer is in fact Richey Edwards, who having leapt from a bridge, was rescued by beavers, adopted by a Britstolian toolmaker (whose wife worked in the NHS) and rose through the ranks of a state school to become director of public prosecutions, where he single handedly allowed terrorists to roam free, and illegal immigrants to buy guns, and become prime minister of all of the shires. Fact.

Apparently Bungalow wants to change the law so you need to be here legally for 15 years before being able to apply for UK citizenship.

Olukemi (later shortened to Kemi) Olufunto Adegoke was born on 2 January 1980 in Wimbledon, London.[11] Her mother had travelled from Nigeria to the UK to give birth in St Teresa's private hospital before the British Nationality Act 1981 abolished automatic birthright citizenship for those born in the United Kingdom, and then returned to Nigeria shortly after Badenoch was born. In later interviews, Badenoch denied claims she was an "anchor baby" and asserted that her family did not know she was in fact eligible for a British passport until she was a teenager.[15][16] She is one of three children born to Nigerian Yoruba parents.

Two tier bungalow?
Now that would be an architectural achievement of breathtaking proportions.
I salute her indefatigability.

In a sense your opening post is pointless. The tories are an irrelevance now and will be for at least the next 3 years. If they haven’t kicked out half of the existing cabal by then they will remain an irrelevance or if they have grown up they may be showing signs of becoming a serious alternative to Labour and Remain. If the latter, Badenoch will have been replaced.

In the meantime they would be better off ignoring Labour (who are destroying their credibility very nicely all on their own without the help of an opposition) and fighting amongst themselves (one of the few things the tories excel at) in order to come out the other end with credible policies, credible people and….. Mmmm… not going to happen is it?

A bungalow is commonly known as a single-storey detached house, although some may have a second level thanks to a loft conversion. However, in order to be a true bungalow, the loft conversion must maintain a sloping roof, into which dormer windows are placed. These are commonly referred to as Chalet Bungalows.

Hope your hangover isn't too bad this morning.

Badenoch is an irrelevance, a temporary custodian of the tories, will never be PM and unlikely to even fight a general election.

The biggest winners of Badenoch leading the Conservative Party has to be Reform.
I bet they can't believe their luck. The Tories have well and truly shit in their own bed.

Unfortunately that now means we very likely are following in the USA's footsteps by voting in our very own Donald Trump.
Yes, there are enough thick people in the UK who after voting for Brexit would now be happy to put Farage in charge of our country.

It is truly frightening.

A pointless thread has value if it triggers reflection.
As for your reflections, you make it sounds like neither of the two main parties are fit to govern.
I made some comment yesterday about the halcyon days of Heath vs Wilson.
In fact those days were no different from now, with two sides attempting to sell their version of the impossible to a needy electorate.

In some ways I hope this is just same old same old.
We certainly have the uninspiring same old labour, Blair without charisma,
not remotely red in tooth or claw.
And the right will always hate them, no matter what.
The trouble is the blue team.

The blue team is hardly irrelevant.
But they are lost, with a hopeless leader.

So the question is whether this will allow a small private company masquerading as a political party to emerge here,
like the socialists (national) emerged from the askes of broken politics in Germany in the 30s.

I hope the tories don't stick with BB, but replace her with someone grown up, so they can hold labour to account.
Sooner rather than too later.
