Or this
Ooooh, this is a great thread. So much joy packed away in here.
Of those mentioned already, I love Echoes and Five Years. Just adore them.
But for me, and this is a purely personal thing, it has to be this. Been lucky enough to see it live three times, the last two with my daughter, who was only two years old when it was released and used to have to put up with me playing it far too loud in the car while I drove her round the streets of Delhi. Each time I’ve seen it, I’ve been on the spectrum between light weep and sobbing.
Already got my ticket to see it a fourth time at Sheffield at Tramlines this year.
Earmarked as my funeral song, which isn’t morbid at all. It’s perfectly thought out. It’s never played on the radio EVER. You have to seek it out, which means it will never sneak up on unsuspecting souls and upset them after I’m gone.
Totally. I was there that night too. Euphoric is absolutely the right word for that evening.Always had Like A Friend down as my favourite Pulp song. Saw them live in Finsbury Park in 2023, and it was special all the song, it like Cocker has you in the palm of his hand, a cathartic live experience.
I agree. Close to perfection. I like your usernameNice! Love the live in Munich version where Dio's voice was immense. Not forgetting Cozy's drum intro.
this…check out the eyebrows of the clarinet player
