Wouldn't be surprised if he's not the only one out the door today, following Peupion and Samuels, unless they get last minute loans - and the rumour mill seems pretty quiet.
On loan.Mcconville left permanently Norwich city
He's left permanentlyOn loan.
Nope.On loan.
But he's not anywhere NEAR the required level, anyone who witnessed his performance in the EFL Trophy in Wycombe can attest to this.Surely we need to keep Turns today. Some great prospects developing but at present he looks the only u21 defender ready to do a job if required.
Miles off it. If Mcconville isn’t deemed good enough there isn’t a chance Turns is.But he's not anywhere NEAR the required level, anyone who witnessed his performance in the EFL Trophy in Wycombe can attest to this.
Crikey, just seen this. Guess we’ll have a high sell on clause. He's left permanently

So yes, sounds like a massive sell on clause.
Still feels like a weird one.
I think it's probably as simple as McConville wouldn't sign a contract extension and didn't want to have to wait to progress through two seasons of loans to get his chance.Weir: The offer from Norwich City is a very good one for the club…

Why didn't he want to sign? He's on the cusp of the first team, when it looks like we are having a huge CB revamp, potentially 2/3 positions up for grabs, and he can't see any opportunity here? It's baffling and concerning. His contract is up in the summer, if he didn't want to sing a new one selling him now is the only chance we can get a fee and hopefully a sell on clause.
Agree Jack. Why didn't he want to sign? He's on the cusp of the first team, when it looks like we are having a huge CB revamp, potentially 2/3 positions up for grabs, and he can't see any opportunity here? It's baffling and concerning.

Agree Jack.
There’s a consistency at the moment that young players are keen to move on. Not to bigger clubs but just to play.
What’s happened to the clear pathway?
What is the messaging behind the scenes? Has this shifted re young players? What’s the atmosphere like at the club for young players?
We’ve got millions of players out on shit loans. We’ve got potential superstars wanting out. We’ve got really exciting academy products not wanting to sign contracts.
Something isn’t right.
He'd want to go on loan and play first team football, but there is a clear pathway in the summer for him, unless we go out and buy 2/3 centre backs, which given how reluctant we are to do so, I can't see that happening. If he doesn't see a pathway there, what player in the academy is seeing any pathway to the first team? He's was on the cusp of the first team as a stop gap after Igor got injured, and now Cashin has arrived he'll be back down the pecking order. Can totally see why he'd want to play first team Championship football at this point in his career rather than resign with us and play for the U21s
