Well yes for sure. I doubt given his current lack of match fitness that he is going to be starting anywhere. The West Ham fan will be judging him on actual performance before his eyes rather than history or potential. Over to you Evan.

True we are better off with the one person with zero management skills.
Lallana is back at Southampton now, which is his spiritual footballing home - he played nearly 250 times for them. "Lallana as Manager with Milner as Asst Manager" may well come to pass in time - but at Southampton, I think; not Brighton.
Those two strikers are both 18 year old boys.
One is the lad we were chasing from Celtic who has never played for their their first team but has 18 goals in the lowland league (whatever that is).
The other has scored a few goals in the French 2nd division but appears to have the stature and strength of Barco, he ain’t going to enjoy the physicality of the EPL this season.

Ferguson has started two games this season.
Taken off in both when we were leading 1-0. ( W1, D1)
Welbeck was injured for the following 5 games.
Ferguson wasn't given the starting berth in the next two games, just getting 18 minutes against Palace with the game lost and 5 minutes when chasing a win at a poor West Ham.
He then developed an ankle injury, which kept him out of the next 6, until he was brought on to endure the last 17 minutes in a lost game.
I can understand why Ferguson would want to get out.
Why our coach isn't trying to develop one of the hottest prospects at the club is beyond me.

Looking at Ferguson’s performances this season, he is a distant 4th behind Pedro, Georginio and Welbz but it’s a chicken and egg situation in regards to him regaining his form.
Give him minutes and we’re going to be ineffective up front. However, once he has regained form, he could be 1st choice. I don’t think we can carry him until he starts playing well again. West Ham can pay us to do that.

He may or mat be, facing some very real challenges from some of the players.
This will be common place at every club.
It's whether he has the wherewithal to overcome these challenges, which TB/PB will have to wait out.
And they will wait it out and give teh coach they selectedm the time he needs to establish himself.
There were similar challenges with Potter.
Andone got sent to Siberia, Glenn, Shane and Dale Stephens got shipped out pretty quickly too.
The problem for the club is that the players who are being shipped off, are considerably more valuable than the inexperienced manager.

Ferguson wanting out is one of the biggest red flags about FH imho. I think FH is focusing on what he can’t do rather than what he can do, and has ruined his confidence. You’d think Chris Wood scoring a hat trick against us would give us a clue. I think Ferguson will score 100 PL goals. And it won’t be for us because the club is backing FH over him.

He has not started 2 consecutive games this season, only had 2 starts, and has not been given 20 minutes in any of his substitute appearances.
However he has managed 1 sublime finish in the 17 minutes he was allowed against Wolves and was a cm away from a second against Fulham in the 10 minutes he had there.
As an out and out CF he is not behind Pedro and Rutter, IMO.
Rutter 9 games 540 minutes 1 goal
Pedro 9 games 706 minutes 2 goals (1 pen)
Evan 13 games 237 minutes 1 goal
The interesting bit is your premise about needing a traditional No.9. Whilst you might be right, Hürzeler does not play a traditional No.9 role. He kind of rotates two No.10s. Welbz and Pedro are required to drop into midfield or on to the wing constantly. This is the area I think Ferguson is particularly weak in at the moment.
If we want to play like Forest or Everton, the current incarnation of Ferguson is a great option but whilst FH is at the helm, his form, fitness and style are problematic.
Pedro is not a useless No.9 btw, he is fast, tall and strong. He scores from scraps in the penalty area because he is quicker in mind and body than most. He scores powerful No.9 headers and can beat a good CB in the air. He scores with both feet and has a trick or two in the penalty area. He also scores penalties. His problem is adjusting to the sort of things FH wants him to do. His positioning needs a lot of work, but when he can learn to pop up like Welbz can in the right position, time after time, he’ll be our best No.9. It’s experience he needs.

COme the end of the season we may well be in the market for a new manager and the bright young loanee players will be back.
