This is the consequence of shocking squad planning. Many of us said in the summer we had bought way too many attacking players, and now we’re left loaning out our brightest prospects to teams in the same division instead of developing them at the club.

With Ferguson, we’ll either be left short up front if Welbeck gets injured (neither JP or GR are #9s), or we’ll bring in a replacement which will just exacerbate our squad imbalance come the summer.

We’ll end up selling Enciso, Buonanotte, and Ferguson for far less than their full potential as they won’t want to stick around.
I know.
Brighton is famous for its hopeless recruitment and laughable financial model.
We are the joke club of England.
Everyone has been saying that.

Lallana feels like a huge loss off the pitch.
If a decision is made to let FAB go, having Lallana as Manager with Milner as Asst Manager until at least the end of the season would make sense. Lallana worked under both Potter and RDZ and knows how TB wants to play football.

We are safe from relegation so nothing to lose and much to gain if harmony can be restored. Can't say there are any experienced managers out of a job at the moment who would be sutable to our style of play. Might be different at the end of the season.

One thing I don’t get is this whole idea that Potter gave Ferguson his PL debut so he’s the one to get the best out of him. Potter stuck him on for 20 minutes against Burnley 3-0 down then refused to play him. It was RDZ who showed faith in him.
Equally last season RDZ seemed to suggest Mark O’Mahony was better in possession

After yesterday it’s exactly what every Albion fan needs to read that we’re loaning our starlet striker to a rival who is now managed by our ex-manager who a lot of us detest. f***ing GREAT look BHA. Just what the doctor ordered. If our fraud of a manager has anything to do with this…..

I will be somewhat surprised if there isn’t an emergency board meeting tomorrow morning.

Got a feeling it was Andrew Crofts that convinced RDZ to give him a try. Remember seeing the Crofts / RDZ interaction after Ferguson’s goal at Everton.

Imagine Tony Bloom checking his emails tomorrow realising Fabian has loaned out Evan under everyone’s noses

You generally think our squad planning has been good in the past 12 months? To have at least 5 or 6 players whose best position is #10 and only have 4 fullbacks across both sides?
I think we are a couple of defenders light.

But I am not going to have a conniption fit about it.

There is no need to be black or white about everything.

It’s a combination of being a couple of defenders light, and 2 or 3 attacking players too many. That’s the squad imbalance.

It’s not being black or white (nor having a conniption fit) to say that our squad planning hasn’t been as good as it used to be in the past 12 months.

Er..... that's not a widely held view....

Are you not prepared to accept that we were not able to get all the business we wanted to do done?
And having pointed your finger, what do you want changed?
The recruitment team?

<sigh>

Of course it used to be good, it used to be best-in-class. Which is why we still have the reputation of being one of the best run clubs.

And my original point wasn’t about not being able to get done all of the business we wanted to. That part is completely understandable. It was about buying too many players that all play the same position and consequently being in a position where we have to loan out many of our brightest talents when they’re already good enough to play at this level.

Actually if you watch the interview he really struggles to say that, or talk that directly about Fab.
Or anything for that matter. 'What went wrong?' 'Everything.'

He also struggled to look at the camera or interviewer. It was eyes down just about all the time. Never seen him look and sound so uncomfortable.
