Last season there was a period without a full medical team after Adam Brett was sacked so there was at least some justification for all the injuries. This year is just worrying. Something surely isn't right in how we're looking after the players if so many are constantly getting injured.

Did Adam Brett get the sack, or just resign?

There was a lot of mystery about what happened to the medical department last year - but I can't remember hearing he'd been sacked? He'd been at Brighton over 9 years, and the injuries seemed to start after he'd gone? Although, to be fair, he's at Tottenham now and they are injury ravaged.

I know someone who worked with him then. He told me Brett was sacked.

Most Premier League clubs are complaining about injuries this season, and it's been like this for numerous seasons now.

I think the tolerance these days to 'play through injuries' has become zero, due to respect of medical science and focus on player longevity, which is understandable as they're a football clubs most valuable assets.

I don't think our medical team or any other clubs medical teams are to blame here.

Didn’t we hire some specialist who was going to stop this happening?

I know who I want fired on Monday morning.

Makes me wonder if it’s all a bit easy at Brighton to pull out with “injuries”. Wonder if we’ve got some “don’t fancy it today” players especially if not is all happy in the camp. Players are well known for pulling out of games when things are a bit rocky but willing to play through the pain barrier when the team is steamrolling everything in its path.

Difficult balance………player wants to play, medical team advise against it. Player says they’re not fit, medical team say they are…………

We seem to be very cautious with anyone with a niggle. Maybe a safety first policy 🤷‍♂️ Tony’s whole being is embedded in risk management - would be interesting to know how the medical team view this.
