If Ipswich go down, going back for our first target McKenna makes most sense, he was clearly the number 1 choice and we ended up in this present mess because he said No.

Maybe not the best day to suggest that one again with Ipswich just losing at home to the weakest team in the division. But yes, it does look like they may go down.

Why would he come here when he's already at a better team than us
Oh , that must mean we can only get a manager from a team that’s worse than us. I didn’t realise that was as a thing , I thought the idea was to get someone that could improve the team.

If you think Iraola or Nuno etc would even think about coming here you're deluded. We offer nothing more than these clubs, except our squad needs more work than theirs.

They're working towards getting highly paid jobs in big clubs. Brighton is not a step forward.

Why do people keep saying Andoni Iraola

1) have people seen the league table?
2) Bmuff pay higher wages than us and probably have a bigger transfer kitty
3) he's on the list of every big team in the world at this point.

Ten hag is a good shout ! And yes McKenna works for me.

Hmmm not so sure about McKenna. Tough job for him at Ipswich in the Prem, but im not sure i'd describe them as a team playing good football, or tough to beat, regardless of their squad capabilities. I'd want to see a bit more before he became a viable option.

How is point 2 even possible?

A quick glance at the Ipswich forum suggests they have similar grips to us!!

Tha timing of it may have suited before, but doubtful now. For the players to believe and trust in the system again should FH leave, I think it would take someone a little more inspiring than a manager who may see relegation as his only Premier League experience.

I don’t quite understand the clamour for McKenna. I know there’s 14 to play, but he’s just lost what was surely a must-win game, and at the moment it looks like Ipswich are going down and will have to seriously up their form to even get 30 points.

Very true. Its such a hard job for the promoted teams, some just cannot cut it (Southampton), some spend a season in and around the relegation zone occasionally picking up results (Ipswich and Leicester) and in the end go back down, but every so often you see a promoted side who although they have essentially a Championship squad they are organised, tough to beat, and have a style of play. They'll still likely be in the bottom 6 teams all season, but you can see the start of a potential Prem quality team. I havent seen enough from Ipswich/McKenna yet to see them as that, still so far just not making the grade with little clear direction. So for me McKenna would still be a massive risk at this point. He could come good, but hasnt yet proven it.

I found it worrying he was considered a top target tbh.
The data route seems to fall down on manager appointments. At least hire someone who has qualified for a European competition from a decent league elsewhere if that’s the ultimate ambition.
