Great news that we get to see him in an Albion shirt for longer. I've said it before but I never thought he was signed to turn a profit but more of a squad player. It's a huge testament to him that he's become probably our most important player. Sounds like a really grounded and mature person too. He was a late starter due to wanting to finish his education before committing to football so massive respect to not just cash out. Please don't go and disappoint us Kaoru and sign for Newcastle!

His continued presence will surely help the development of Minteh on the other side. I imagine he is a popular member of the squad and if he did leave it would be felt my many of his team mates.

I recall the other year an Arsenal thug had a go at him and got a seeing to from Caicedo followed by a modest bit of hand slapping between the two. It was great stuff.

SSN reporting talks ended - he is staying at Brighton

So pleased with this, desperately didn't want to lose him whatever the price, I think he's irreplaceable.

I do think along with Georginio these are top players we could keep for the long term. Baleba and Joao Pedro I expect to go in the next year or so but if we can keep progressing and hopefully make Europe again this or next season, I think players like Mitoma and GR will stay.

Not sure about Pedro he has flashes of brilliance yet very inconsistent, for a top side to pay a lot for him he has to improve.
Baleba is still learning if he goes to early it could be a mistake as he makes daft decisions in dangerous areas, two more seasons with us would benefit him.

Well done the club, but I think people are making a big assumption if they think that Mitoma himself had no interest in a move. I'd like to think that's the case, but is there any evidence?
Seems like a logical conclusion if it’s true they made a second bid of £75m. Why would we not bank that? I doubt any European club is likely to get close to that in future and we’d surely have been wise to accept. But if the word is that Mitoma has no interest in moving to Saudi, no point forcing him out. Avoid disruption to the season, make him feel valued and simultaneously raise the benchmark figure for any summer suitors. Any hit we take by failing to acheive the Saudi price will hopefully be outweighed by the success he’s brought in the meantime.

I could see him going to a Champions League club in the summer. I would just say 'fair enough'. It would be wrong to stand in his way.

I do agree with the sentiment, the club has said as much themselves in that they won't stand in players, or employees way.
They do add the caveat though that the club's valuation must be met, which is made all the more interesting with any Saudi interest.

Maybe a new contract shortly?

Also turning down such a high figure sets the benchmark for the summer.

So at the moment, we have bought Gomez who can’t get on up front needing goals when instead our manager plays a centre back up front, and sold Peupion, Barco and Tariq ( three young talents, tariq one that really excited the crowd). Possibly buying some bloke from derby.

IMHO

UNDERWHELMING!

I kind of agree. They are both still young (for some reason I always think Pedro's older than he is) so hopefully consistency will improve, and their values too.
