Erm...well....

Bristol Rovers home, 1988, after promotion
Ipswich home after Wendy's free kick, with half the North Stand
Lincoln home, to protest the Archer regime
York home, broken goalposts
Stockport home (Withdean), survival
Wigan home (Amex), promotion to the Premier League

And those are just the ones I can remember. I'm sure there were a couple of 'sack the board' efforts when Bazza was manager.

I have never intentionally been on the pitch. It's wrong.

However, I have found myself on there a few times, purely by accident, when the force of the wind behind me propelled me on to hitherto grass.

One such occasion was Wigan when a strong wind propelled me down the steps of the WSU and to the centre circle. Then later, after promotion was confirmed, from the North Stand concourse.

Other occasions, when similar climatic conditions occurred, were Bristol Rovers (1988) Ipswich (1991) Southend (1992), Doncaster (1997)

As a child, I unintentionally took a wrong turn through an open gate at the Goldstone and went wandering around the pitch. As I came into the North Stand penalty area my leg began to make kicking movements, as if to strike for goal, like Peter Ward.
Erm, ROTHERHAM?

I remember that Wilkins freekick winner like yesterday. Incredible that the ground stayed full to the bitter end, when a frustrating draw looked inevitable.

I didn't go on the PITCH, I came around the edge. And I was there in my official capacity as sports journalist for the East Sussex Gazette & Sport. Now defunct, or never was, take your pick.

Rotherham always had a splendid buffet.

Many years ago in the 80’s was at Southend away, we had made a complete mess of things and with the keeper in no man’s land the ball was rolling into the net from around the edge of the box.
Being in the front row I would have had time possibly to nip over the short wall and clear the ball. I’ve always regretted that moment why didn’t I clear the ball 🤣

Just remembered, I walked onto the 'pitch' before it was laid as the Amex was being built. Went for a quick look and was shouted at by the foreman as it was a hard hat area. 😆

Nobody said home to Sheffield United yet, I fully intended to, until just after the full time whistle as I was too scared in the end when I could see what was happening

Edit: I missed it
Quite a number of times. Notably celebrating with the players up at Shrewsbury although they won, we were division champions. Also when Slade kept us up managed to get right by him, that was fun with my 5 year old in my arms. And another memorable one was pretending to score at the North goal at the Goldstone which descended into chaos as Sheffield United also invaded, charges, fighting and police horses, those were the days.

The Wigan home game.

Swindon play off game. Completely soaked! Ran past Mark Mcghee who was screaming “Get off the f*cking pitch!”

Ipswich home game securing safety from relegation. Ran towards Des Lynam and exchanged a few words (can’t remember what but he was very well spoken. And much taller than i expected).

And got a toe over the barrier for the pitch invasion after the Chesterfield game before a steward pushed me back. I must have been the only one that got stopped that evening!
Same. First time I ever ran on the pitch to kiss a goalpost 😄

One of our 3rd party contractors at work paid for the hire of the pitch and we played them on it back pre-Covid, only time I've ever been on a professional pitch though as was one of those who stayed in the West stand on Wigan day

TBH it wasn't as special as walking out onto the Lord's turf after Jimmy's retirement test match last summer, no disrespect to the Amex but it's not Lord's

I went on the pitch after the Sussex defeat in 1993. I remember being shown pity by the Warwicks fans in a most condescending way. That defeat still rankles. At tea, Warwicks were 7-1.

May 1977. Twas a 1-1 draw. I remember listening to the reports from Tony Millard which confused my fledgling mind. I didn't know there was a team called Saltergate. It sounded like a village near Lewes.

When I was at uni I used to go and watch Leicester City at Filbert Street every now and then and we ran on the pitch when they beat Oxford 1-0 in the last game of the season to stay up. The fans carried caretaker manager Gordon Lee aloft too.

Also, what I like about the pitch invasion is the people who run on and score imaginary headers/volleys etc.

I've been on the pitch twice. Once for a photo - when i took a bunch of kids from the local football team i volunteer with. In those days those school/club trips offered a pitch photo as part of the package.

I've played in one of the corporate games during Covid so we didn't get access to dressing rooms etc and there was no "crowd". . Hugh Dennis was in my team from Outnumbered (i can't remember why) . He's a good defender. I scored a tap in , in front of the North Stand but we lost 5-2. . We had penalties at the end . I missed mine.

My main memories of that evening are being saturated in the South stand, completely miserable one minute to being on the pitch chasing a frantic Mcghee the next! Don’t remember much in between 🤣
Weather was head-mental that day. Blue sky afternoon. Black sky an hour before kick-off. Biblical rain first half. Stopped for duration of half-time. Started again second half and never stopped again. Mad stuff - even by Withdean micro-climate standards 🤣

I need to add York to my very inadequate list! I need to go on again, it seems, Chelsea maybe?
