Might need to stay away from X, lots of 'experts' out there. One thing did catch my eye though if you go down a rabbit hole of conspiracies:

"Safe, Reliable, and Uninhabited: Autonomous BLACK HAWK® Helicopter"
I take great pleasure in not being part of that or Facebook anymore. I saw that video and I don't trust it.

It's a horrible tragedy and US senior politicians would serve well to keep wise their counsel. The investigators will come to the proper conclusions.

Looking at it in the BBC, it rather seems it could have been even worse had the plane been full. No-one will survive that.

RIP

The CRJ 701 has capacity for 70 passengers, it was pretty full!
Apologies. It was an AA aircraft. My mind always assumes like a 737 or something.

Trump has forgotten he's now president:-
"The airplane was on a perfect and routine line of approach to the airport," Trump wrote.

"The helicopter was going straight at the airplane for an extended period of time. It is a CLEAR NIGHT, the lights on the plane were blazing.

"Why didn't the helicopter go up or down, or turn. Why didn't the control tower tell the helicopter what to do instead of asking if they saw the plane.

"This is a bad situation that looks like it should have been prevented. NOT GOOD!!!"
Eh? That's EXACTLY how he would respond as president. Surely you've not forgot some of the batshit stuff he said and posted last time around?

Unsurprising that Trump has reacted like an idiotic small child. Equally unsurprising that a lot of those posing conspiracy theories are from Trump supporters (i.e morons). Chances are the helicopter operating on a visual separation basis just misjudged the situation but I'm sure the investigation will clear it up in time.

This one, presumably.

hindsight etc, i'd have thought pretty obvious the plane is heading for the airport, so bear away from that.

i heard some audio this morning, ATC was repeatedly telling the helicopter to change course, return to base, but was unresponsive. expecting radio failure to come out as main cause.

Most presidents, people even, would start by expressing sorrow and sympathy for the victims and their families.

Trump is not most presidents. Or most people, even.

Also, I'm sure it's not a result of this, but you know if the shoe was on the other foot:

Seems no radio issues

Duffy is also asked about communication between the helicopter, the commercial plane and flight control - he says there was no breakdown in communication between the military helicopter and the American Airline flight.

"The helicopter was aware that there was a plane in the area," he says.
