Bouncing an old thread as the thread title seemed appropriate. Surpised it got no responses.

The Argus have a space filler article based on a comment about Daniel Levy from Paul Hawskby:

Not particularly interesting, but I liked the comment that Bloom was "Up and down like a yo-yo, like he had bought his ticket..."

Oh he bought it Paul: the most expensive ticket he ever purchased. (And PB probably won't let him bring a flask in).

Quite a record tbh

Incidentally, this graphic is quite interesting in terms of visualizing the Albion's refresh points. 6 years from the start came the Hyppia season and a big drop off. The Hughton years saw steady progress for 4.5 years before a very slight drop and Potter came in. Then 4 years of stabilising and steady progress with GP and RDZ. The fifth year is not on the graph, but saw a drop to 11th after the disappointing end to the 23/24 season. Big squad refresh followed and we hope that the stability is regained and steady progress begins again. It's like he's doing the USSR's five year plans, but effectively and without making up the results.

I hope we never forget that Dick Knight saved the club. TB has been and remains the most amazing, committed and visionary owner. We are blessed to have him at our club. But without Dick there would be no BHAFC
Everyone loves a bit of Dick.

I'm surprised there's only one other 'Tony Bloom Appreciation Thread', er, thread. Mind you, that one makes fascinating reading off the back of the arrival of CMS.

Although now he’s been reduced to a kiosk in the North Stand.
What does Dick actually want ? This whole debate would be easier and less contentious. How dare they ? Etc etc - if we actually heard from the man himself either direct or via “friends close to Dick”. Perhaps he couldn’t care less.

I have met him, he cares. I am not a mate though and didn’t broach the how he feels about TB subject.

I doubt the man would ask for anything at all. It’s what we want. It’s our club after all. Or is it? Is it now just Tony’s club and we all trot along dutifully?

Agreed. Unfortunately there's certainly no consensus as to what "we want". Looks like the club have sought to address this issue thanks to Attila and presumably are open to do more. So deserve credit for that.

But endless (on this thread) speculation about Dick and Tony's relationship - i've no idea - and arguing that what has happened is a deliberate slight - i'm more cock up than conspiracy - have some have suggested probably not helpful.

Agree. I've no idea what their relationship is like. I've never speculated on it. You can only judge an organisation on its actions.

If I were running the club and knew about the history of the club - I'm assuming they do some sort of induction for staff - then I reckon I'd understand that without Dick Knight there wouldn't be an Amex Stadium and I wouldn't have a job. That being the case, I'd say it's a cock-up.

Matthew Harding did a lot less for Chelsea and he got a whole stand named after him. At this rate DK will be reduced to a testimonial urinal in the East Stand.
