Good luck getting 25/30 million for the lad, the best we can hope for him in his current form is around 15-20 million with add ons and a nice sell on clause is more realistic, potentially reaching 30million in the future, but to think the likes of West Ham are going to spend 30 million on a player who has only scored one goal in practically two seasons is dreamland.
Might as well keep him then.

Oh I quite agree, I’m just hoping being January we might get some desperate mugs like West Ham (look at their striker signing record!) or Everton to pay that.

To be fair they spent £15m on Danny Ings

Maybe it’s recency bias but I can’t l recall many games when he wasn’t bullied with his back to goal, Everton away a few years back maybe, can’t think of many more if im honest. I’ll accept he’s young and was still growing for a lot of this but hes 20 now.

He’s a fantastic finisher and I’d argue we shouldn’t give up on him (yet) but again don’t know what the injury file is like and I suspect we price in the future risk as well
I've looked back at his goals for us:

He's scored 16 from 22-24

I've looked at each and I'd class them as:

Strength - 1
Power - 3
Predator 2
Composure - 5
Skill - 2
Pace - 4

the onlty 1 that involved strength was his 1st PL goal v Arsenal. His goals are more more likely to be from skill / close control, pace to get into the right place or simply hitting the ball very hard.

so, you are correct, at least from reviewing his goals.

If we’re offered a reasonable amount - £25/£30 millon - I’m all for shifting him and investing the money elsewhere. The drop off in his form has been alarming and I have serious doubts about him getting back to his previous level. He’s looked way off PL standard for a long time.

For a club who work a lot with data, 1 goal in 15 months for a striker who offers nothing else and other stats are poor - this is going to be a real concern.
This is a player who was being touted by managers and ex players as the next big thing just a couple of seasons ago. I think it would be madness for us to let Evan go for this amount of money . Surely , as a Club, we can afford to keep him around for another season to see how he progresses while recovering from injury. It's bad enough we let Gyokeses go and now he is valued at £80m+ but to see the same thing happen with Ferguson in a couple of seasons would be heart breaking.

When fully fit he needs to have a prolonged period of playing for our first team.

Don't forget Chelsea. They'd probably stump up £100m!

Maybe the question is why Enciso & Ferguson are now unhappy?
Because we have more effective attacking options and they have either had a sulk or haven't proven themselves worthy of dislodging Rutter, Welbz, and JP. I think based on this season it is impossible to say either Ferguson or Enciso deserves to be in the team over any of those 3 when fit.

I’m sure his loss of form is largely attributed to all of his injuries but it’s alarming to see the drop off compared to where he was. Perhaps all not great behind scenes or maybe it’s just confidence etc. Real shame if he does leave the club as thought he would be leading the line for a few years to come
I don't buy confidence argument, that doesn't stop him putting effort in and no one can hide from the fact he barely breaks into a jog.

I agree but then you've got to wonder, if we had these two very talented individuals, why have we brought in more players in their positions, and ignored the defence.

Can’t see anyone matching our expectations for a player who is still injured and likely to be so beyond the end of the transfer window. I certainly hope that’s the case. I’d like to see him get a full season without injury before jumping to judgement.
Lots of reasons he might not be reaching his potential currently and injury/lack of consistent game time must be to the fore. However it’s worth looking at his international performances as well as club - I’d suggest they’re not overly encouraging. He’s still young of course but it’s very much about potential and a long long way from being realised.

Maybe the question is why Enciso & Ferguson are now unhappy?
Because we have a squad absolutely full of attacking talent. No squad on the planet like that would have every single attacker happy. It would be a problem if they were!

Because the ones we’ve bought in are better?
Agree about the defence though 👍
