These games happen occasionally. Once they had the goal it was obvious they would defend for their lives. We were never going to break that down with tippy tappy. The only chance is to get everyone in the box, keep lumping it in there and hope for a second ball. We switched to that too late.

...... and let the scapegoating begin, let's fixate on FH, because it's all his fault, even though that's only the 5th game we've lost in 23.

I find it fascinating that the forum is all sweetness and light following 3 wins on the bounce, but we get a result we don't like, the knives come out!

Everton were excellent today, game plan worked and we'd had got a draw if it wasn't for a hopeful ball over the top causing Joel's brain fart - but of course that's down to FH's coaching ;-)

It's not easy playing against a brick wall when the other side has no intention of attacking - it's the tried and tested way of getting a point or nicking 3 - great teams sometimes struggle to break them down, we're just a good team imho....

Anyway, got to love the PL - Nuno is obviously a cack manager, how can he get NF to 3rd in the PL and then get spanked 5-0 at Muff?
Bournemouth are a very good side with a top manager.

To be honest it's been like this most of the time we have been in this Division. If teams turn up and park the bus/play a low block (or whatever the current catchphrase is for this style of play), 99 times out of 100 we haven't got a fecking clue.

No matter who is on the pitch or on the subs bench or who is the manager! It's just something we seem congenitally unable to do. End of.

We have played four of the bottom five at home. We haven't won once. It's tragic!

Why did Everton see out the last 10 plus mins with only 10 players on the pitch? They only used 4 subs, did I miss something?

These games happen A LOT TO BHAFC. Once they had the goal it was obvious they would defend for their lives. We were never going to break that down with tippy tappy. The only chance is to get everyone in the box, keep lumping it in there and hope for a second ball. We switched to that too late.

Corrected.

It was - but I'm now kind of glad the bad weather stopped me coming down for it. Very frustrating that we can't make any impact on boring teams playing those tactics.
There is a footballing gremlin about when playing Everton at home that has DULL and FRUSTRATING written on every cell of its body. In our last five home matches against them we have scored twice and haven't won. Yet in our last four away matches we have scored eleven times and won three.

I almost want Chris Hughton back for one match only when we play them. Just so we can meet them with like for like. Or just ask to play them away twice a season.
