You have to accept that he's going to get stuff wrong in his first season. He's developing as much as some of the 19-20 year old players we've bought in this season. Would be daft to want to start all over again after a season in which we're probably already safe on 34 points.

Danger signs are definitely there: a tremendous talent pool of players coupled with a mammoth summer spend. Yet we are turning out far too many shitty performances like this. Not a terrible season so far by any means, but eyebrows are without doubt starting to head upwards…

Everton haven’t been very poor, they’ve been excellent. They got their goal and then they’ve snuffed out all space in their own penalty area. Fair play to them, not pretty, but effective.
