Given all his previous, I imagine he will get jail time if he is found guilty of this. Well deserved.

Another witch hunt of Barton. He's a man of the people. Says and does what the WOKE are afraid to say and do. Whatever he's done, it's fine by me.

Is he really wearing a Union Jack as a scarf to try and dog whistle his remaining few supporters?

'The arguing between the couple, who had been drinking with two other couples while their children slept upstairs, started after Mr Barton threatened to fight his wife's brother and father, Westminster Magistrates' Court was told.'

Are you sure it wasn't that his wife offered an opinion on a men's football match?

Good, bad, and middling pundits can be found right across the broadcasting spectrum. I find it rarely has much to do with their gender, or playing career.

Though I did notice on Amazon this week (Luton-Aresenal game I think) all three studio guests were bald men. That just seems crazy.

It may be that the inclusion of some female pundits is indeed a quota thing. But I've always seen things differently.

Firstly, if in the age of AI female pundits were given a male body and voice I wonder if the views would be singling them out more than men.

Secondly, punditry to me is not of a high standard in the UK. I've seen too many who cannot complete a statement without the phrases 'giving it a go' 'more intensity' and all those baseline phrases that a Sunday League coach would use. I hate to single out, but I'm really not sure what Alan Shearer brings to the party.

But I don't hate on commentators and pundits. They get paid for an easy gig. Don't blame them. But I rather wish the likes of Peter Jones and Bryan Butler were still with us. Less is best.

As for Joey Barton. To me he is just a shouty man on the internet. I suppose we all are, but with a bit more rationale and the ability to converse and disagree without grudges. Whatever his is.

Yes I do.

And I am of the opinion that Joey Barton is a complete and utter berk of the highest order
I think that's unfair on us high order berks.

His wife must have lived under a stone if she didn’t expect this type of treatment from him. What on earth could any female find attractive in such a bloke?

Don't overreact. Who hasn't threatened their wife's brother and father and kicked her in the head after a couple of beers?
So he was going to fight her dad and brother. then didn't and beat up his wife instead.

He is a real hard geezer ain't he.

What a prick.

I am slightly disappointed with the reason for this thread being bounced,

Some other time soon.
