They were in most areas of the ground.... according to my neighbour who was there as a Man U fan, he said home fans were hassled by stewards who were kid gloves with the Rangers infiltration..... scuffles in almost every home section and in the concourse he said
It will be worse at Villa next week I suspect.... inside and outside the ground.

All fans do it when you really, really want to see your team. It's not that hard. Didn't we have fans on here co-ordinating the best home block to be in for Athens away? Admittedly they all sat on their hands when we scored, but still.
I doubt it, as a) it's the UCL, not a lesser tournament that the 2 clubs always find themselves in b) Villa need to win so STHs are bound to want to go and c) the ground only holds 40,000. Celtic will come down in their thousands like Rangers did, but home tickets will be like rocking horse shit.

....and there is the crux,.. we have all sat on our hands away from home in home ends, many times, but .. we don't give it large whilst there.... there is a difference.... a big difference.

They can sack the office staff, one of whom’s yearly salary would just about pay Bruno’s appearance fee and goal bonus (not his weekly wage), alternatively it would pay for one day’s pay for Casemiro.
They can’t sack all the mercenary, grossly overpaid has-beens (Eriksen, Casemiro, Rashford) and never-weres (Antony, Onana, Maguire) because they all have contracts worth millions of quid to pay off, they’re massively in debt, and nobody would want most of those players even for free, given their massive wages.
So it’s the tea lady that gets it.
As I said before, they’re seriously f***ed. Struggling to beat Rangers, a Championship side at best, with a late winner at home is their level.
They’re absolutely f***ed.

shouldn’t laugh at violence at the football, hate to see it etc, but the absolute STATE of that punch. It was thrown in slow motion, off balance, around two foot wide. How embarrassing!

In fairness, AEK knew Brighton fans would look to go in the home end and adapted accordingly. They put us all in the same block and heavily overcharged us.
Plus the AEK fans round us knew we weren't Greek by the fact we were in shorts and t-shirts whilst they were in jeans and puffer jackets.

We (Brighton fans generally) did, also in Amsterdam too, but the difference is we know who we are, we know our loyalty, we justify it to nobody (apart from the odd “I went to Gillingham” on here)
Arsenal/Chelsea/United etc have such a large non descript fan base anyone in the wrong end has to, by law, let everyone else around them know who they support to elevate themselves to some sort of superfan status even if Brighton away is the only match they make in a season. Gettin slung out is just a badge of honour.

I wasn't in the country for those games but I went to Millwall at the Old Den, one of the games in 1978, when the home fans 'dismantled' an unused TV gantry and threw the scaffolding at their own fans.

One of the people in the larger group I sit with (Upper West), informed me before this seasons Man Utd game at the Amex that she'd brought a friend's son along, as he was a "big Man Utd fan, and had never seen them play live"... and that he would be sitting next to me! "Oh thanks very much !" was my response sarcastically, but nothing I could really do without looking like I was spoiling a kid's day out. When I got to my seat, the "kid" was about 16/17, over 6 ft tall and looked virtually adult. He also had absolutely zero awareness about keeping quiet when seated in the "wrong" end. I was getting "Come on RAshford / Bruno..." etc when they attacked. I had a quiet word, trying to keep it light, along the lines of "you need to be careful" but he wasnt really getting the message. However.... my patience got the better of me. When Welbeck's late late winner went in, I found myself , a mature 61 year old, over celebrating like mad in front of the lad, much to my later embarrassment. Geddin !!
Nothing to be embarrassed about that. They take their chance, they reap their comeuppance. I did enjoy celebrating with the man in front of me last season when we beat (can’t remember). Give them a friendly hug as the goal goes in “What a goal, did you see that?,”
