Tonight I find myself watching Wrexham v Birmingham City. It's an enjoyable match and worth the watch. Sometimes Division 3 games can have some quality.

I thought to mention it to folk in NSC, but didn't really think it thread worthy. Although it now has one by default.

Has NSC pondered the prospect of having an ongoing chat box running alongside the main board ? Stuff like that could be placed in there rather than starting a thread. I suppose it my solve some of the RIP spats too. Just a thought.

I may have dreamt it but I seem to remember a chat box thing during games??

RIP threads.

Hello NSC Social Media platform?
I've always felt that NSC with its reach and the type of membership it has shows much potential to be more than a football forum. Especially with its moderation which means it's my goto.

I think a lot of it is time though. Those who run it do have lives.

There was live chat when I was living in Asia so 20 years ago. I followed the Leon Knight playoff in it when I was in Taipei.

It was horrendously open to abuse and impossible to moderate.

I wonder that a live chat only open to members these days may be less troublesome. That said, I appreciate a lot of it is down to time for yous who run the site.

Oh my god was it that long ago? I must confess I didn't really use it.

I listened to that play off in Australia on the interweb at stupid o'clock in the morning. The internet fails as Leon was running up for the pen and it took me ages to find out if he has scored.

I was under the impression we didn't need moderators anymore and we could be self policing?

Isn't that right Zuck?

Elon?

What, like having a generic '2025 January Transfer Window OPEN - incoming/outgoing' thread (though in itself a perfectly good idea) to cover all comings and goings has completely solved the 'problem' of some players having (old) threads of their own, with no controversy, and nobody getting upset that people were using the wrong thread?

What would be good would be if threads that weren't used for, say, 3 months, were closed. If a new thread was opened, it could always refer back to it, but it would save reading all through a thread before realising how old it was! Then people could make a judgement whether to start a new thread, or post on a generic thread such as the one above, and we wouldn't have any confusion.

Oh I don’t know, I’ve always quite liked the realisation that I’ve just clicked like on something that somebody else posted in 2014, and I didn’t check to see if it was an old bounced thread first.

I reckon it’s a good thing that you can still receive a like for something you posted a decade ago.
