"Protests against VAR have been common in Norway since it was introduced two years ago, with one high-profile occurrence seeing a match between Rosenborg and Lillestrøm abandoned in July after fish cakes...were thrown onto the pitch."

Fish cakes. Now there's a thought.
Awaiting announcement from PB/The Albion that these are now banned from The Amex.

Yeah, maybe three is pushing it a bit…
I honestly think any sort of “challenge” scenario introduces more delay to the game, and has the potential for all sorts of admin SNAFU situations

The way to “fix” VAR is the same as it always has been;
- Automate offsides so they’re basically instant
- Timebox any review to 30 seconds, else it’s not “clear and obvious”, then go with the call of the ref
- Play the video and audio on the screens in the stadium

None of this is difficult, they just can’t be arsed

Lose to Southampton at home or have Pedro’s goal stand last Sunday
Which one would you have preferred with no VAR ?
Lose or win at Spurs away under RdZ
You can argue both ways, but football is about spontaneous enjoyment and passion for me, VAR has removed an element of this.

Having a toe offside is not gaining an advantage.

Get rid, just talk about refereeing decisions rather than VAR decisions.

In Sweden the members (who by law runs every club) in nearly every case voted for their clubs to actively work against anyone trying to implement VAR in Allsvenskan.

The chairman of the Swedish FA, former prime minister Fredrik Reinfeldt wanted to introduce it anyway. The response to that was members voting for their clubs to get work for getting rid of him from that post, and he is very unlikely to be re-elected by the clubs and local FAs in March.

Bit like in Norway, people come to the games for the atmosphere and most definitely not for the football, so the first must always be prioritised and then there can be no VAR.
