Although these have absolutely nothing to do 'Coping strategies for dealing with Trump', the actual subject of the thread,

I doubt the current government will prioritise Brighton cabbies the way Boris and Nige did and Kemi does :thumbsup:

I take no notice of any politicians, if you switched of all forms of news outlets for a year your life would be exactly the same. Power hungry rich people aren’t going to do anything for the likes of you or me.

They promise they will do this and the next thing you know full well it’s all bollocks just the same nonsense that was spouted by the last one in charge.

People are always going to be annoyed by politicians. Generally I get annoyed by policies rather than people, but I try not to get annoyed: generally just because a policy annoys you doesn't mean it annoys everyone - and in a democracy there's often quite a lot of people who like it. I try and see their side, even if I disagree personally.

Also I think it is better to focus on positive things; if you don't like a policy there is probably still quite a lot of positive things you can do. Maybe not against that policy, but positive in a way that both improves things and makes you feel better. I - for example - go litter picking sometimes. I don't like litter and crap left lying around, so I pick it up either on my own or in a group. Much better than just complaining IMO. Would it be better with harsher littering laws? Maybe, but maybe the law isn't the important thing here, it's having a buy-in for the local area.

Back to the thread topic: Trump. He doesn't annoy me - I find him quite funny/entertaining. I guess that is part of what others find annoying. If that is the case why not stop watching what he says/does and just pay attention to the politics? If you're not an American how does it affect you? What should your country do about it - why not write to your MP and/campaign for that rather than complaining about him?

I'm not so sure. The last 4 years has seen low UK new reporting of presidential ramblings. Biden wasn't bothered by screen time but the Bunglekunnt craves it.

Ha. I had a late uncle who did similar. Like you, he listened to a fringe station I guess. My nightmare music in that setting is Coronation Street. When I hear that I suffer fear, anxiety, panic, helplessness, the urge to destroy etc. It does my head in more than anything.

Advice to the OP: watch Coronation Street and listen to The Archers 24/7.

I don't like Trump and wanted Biden to win. As someone who does a proper job, however, the comment below made me laugh working in an organisation that is full of this type of bullshit where gender studies graduates rise and people who know what they are talking about ignored.

"Federal employees involved in DEI - diversity, equity and inclusion - programmes to be put on paid leave"

Even a broken clock and all that.

This thread is about coping with the next 4 years though Warren.

The question is, in that period, are we going to see a US economy further energised by low energy prices and increased profits with the elimination of pointless Govt imposed overhead or is it heading south?

Even if people only had a tiny amount of your financial acumen, I think they know in their next 4 years the economic environment is going to be rosy in the US.

Capitalism can be a coping mechanism……..emotional insurance for the nut job mattress dampers on here if you will.

I detest Trump, but come on now, just don't read the news. I'm afraid this is democracy, but democracy gone wrong. Be more angry at the Yanks who voted for him and are blind to the truth. Talk to a yank who voted for him and they have lost the plot.

Do get your feelings either way.

The US already has incredibly low energy prices. An excellent article in the DT today (do you subscribe?) on how its been a cornerstone of their economic success, whilst UK/EU has stagnated. Most people even if they don’t know would already be invested heavily in the US stock markets. Your after-timing financial advice may help the few who put everything on UK/EU stocks.

Exponential under Obama-Rapist-Biden. Perhaps the President isn’t the key determinant.
