Forest have won the European Cup. It’s a major UK city that’s relatively vibrant for the north. The City Ground is a great ground and the support is some of the noisiest in the league.
They’re on the verge of a brilliant season and have some of the best young players in the league. I can see why the money men at the club would see this is a real opportunity. They could really establish themselves as one of the stronger teams with this kind of signing and a European finish.
I don’t think they’ll pay it and I don’t think he’ll join them. But I can understand both why they’d be busting a gut for someone like him or Mbuemo and why that profile of player might buy into the project up there.

Although most of what you've written was equally applicable to Leeds at the start of the millenium when they went Viv Nicholson crazy. That didn't end well. Forest's owner has just escaped being relegated by a points deduction for overspending. They'd be daft to put everything on red, but it wouldn't surprise me.
