I appreciate if you are travelling a fair distance this is not ideal. But if you have a car or can car share then park and ride is always a decent option. I am a bit increduled that some who seem to spend half their life on here can't be bothered to travel from say, Preston Park🤷.
Also appreciate it's extra outlay at a difficult time of year financially. But for context the £25 for my WSU seat would be £57 full price for the League game...
Mill road is never a decent option

Perhaps the matches you mention are in cities with better transport links? I used to live in Liverpool, and whatever you say about the city, it has great public transport (or at least used to) along with the most black cabs outside London. Getting to and from Anfield was waaaaaaay easier than the Amex primarily as the location was in a spot that whilst not central, was still decent and people disperse in all directions. Most of the Amex traffic moves east to west and it is highly reliant on the trains which have gotten worse over the last few years.
He’s got a point though Champions league and it would have sold out easily

Yes, but it is the same point I made earlier to @Simster . Of course people make an extra effort for European football over Chelsea in the cup. Playing Chelsea is simply not special to most of us even if it once may have been. Therefore the lengths people will go to are not the same for the respective matches.

I have a 4 hour drive to the Amex so an 8pm KO is not exactly ideal. I did make the effort for the Europa games and quickly found out how many motorways are closed at night for roadworks. I'm (probably) missing this one. I will be making the effort for the league game though!

Of course it would, we would probably be playing a team that we have never played before in a competition we have never been in.
Not against a team we have played twice every season since 2017, and not against a team we are playing at the same kick off time 6 days later.

I wonder what on earth the supporters of other teams think when they read this board right now... and before someone says "but you've never been here!!!" - well, thats true, but at least I want to be there...

This board is nearly all 50+ middle aged men. It’s hardly representative of the fanbase as a whole.

Personally, I couldn't give a f#ck what the supporters of other teams, or anyone else thinks about my decision not to spend my money attending a football match.

STH and probably going, but only because I can’t go to the league game the following Friday. It’s not because it’s Chelsea, it’s because it’s a SHIT KO time, absolutely no need for it. Like EVERYTHING else in this country a national asset has been sold from under us by bloodsucking ****s.

I will have to leave the cup game on 75 minutes, and even then I won’t get home until 1.30am. Beds/Northants border. But I’m still travelling, all on my ownsome.

I’m giving both a swerve just can’t be arsed driving back to London that late and I’m beginning to really dislike night driving with those ultra bright head lamps the new cars have.
