I understand that but if tickets aren't available on the day of the match then giving up my ST and buying on a game by game basis isn't an option.
Edit: I see your Q has been answered

Point taken, earlier the better for the chance of a sale obviously but think there needs to be a bit of flex in the morning of a match day particularly with kids but saying that 5 times or more probably warrants a discussions with the club for next season eligibility (rather than auto losing it)

I once listed a ticket getting on the coach as eldest didn’t fancy it last minute. To my surprise it had sold within the 30 min drive to the Amex and the seat was already occupied when I got there. To make matters worse he had a Chicken Balti pie (probably the last one as was sold out when I got there, busy ****)

We lucked out in December’s CP derby. I had a stinker of a cold, so put the tickets on the exchange 90 minutes before KO, they sold! Some unlucky bugger splashed out, then watched a car crash.

Well, that's for the person concerned to decide. My concern is for the people who are still fit enough to find the day pleasurable on some occasions but not fit enough to find it pleasurable on others, so make a game day decision. If they're felling well on a sunny spring day, they go' if they're feeling rotten on a slushy winter day, they don't. Most of us will get to that stage, in time. It's part of the ageing process.

Sigh, how many times? Buy a membership and pick and choose to your heart's content. It’s what a membership is for. Assuming the person only goes occasionally, when the weather's good, they will save money and not have this apparent stress of using the exchange.

Just for once I’m inclined to disagree with you Jack. I’d say that more numbers doesn’t necessarily lead to an improved atmosphere. Filling empty seats with arguably less partisan fans can actually stifle the atmosphere. Take Liverpool away this season, or Man City at home during Covid, as examples.
Yes I think that is of course an issue I agree, but I think that’s a separate issue the club need to look into, making sure those people are unable to get tickets.

Sigh, how many more times. Even when the weather is good, some people like to sit with family and friends.

So you want a half-price, guaranteed seat in a specific place, always available, regardless of whether or not you attend. Well tough. Such a deal isn’t available. The club bends over backwards to give you almost exactly what you want but it’s still not good enough for you.

The only option left is to ask for a special full-price season ticket where you agree to pay the standard no-concession, matchday price of the seat x19. With one of those, you have a guaranteed specific seat and you’re free to attend or not.

Only to be let down by his mate @mile oak who will have had a family emergency, travel issues, work commitments, a migraine, Covid, locked in a courtroom overnight and kidnapped by aliens for the umpteenth time this season.

I lived in constant fear of Jury Service during one of our European Weeks last season :lolol:

Until very recently, it was assumed at all clubs that the purchase of a season ticket would buy you exactly that. The club got the guaranteed income, the customer got the guaranteed seat.

Now, many clubs have found that while there is a shortage of seats, they have the power to chuck out the less profitable customers and replace them with some who will pay more money. Short term gain, certainly. Long term gain, perhaps not, because alienating the die-hards is not good policy if the going gets tough.

Be that as it may, you're happy that the club should chuck out long standing supporters in poor health because it's profitable to do so; I'm not. Fine. End of.

You *might* get chucked out for failing, multiple times, to follow a simple process that takes literally a couple of minutes or less.

It is not a "simple process" to wake up on Saturday morning, realise you aren't fit to attend the game, and put your ticket on the exchange before the deadline. It is an impossible process.

You simply aren't understanding the point. Elderly/unfit/poorly people don't necessarily know whether or not they will be fit to travel until the last minute. I believe these people deserve consideration.

They get consideration. That’s why they’re allowed to cancel a huge portion of their games by 2pm the day of the game.

I appreciate you’re on a wind up and don’t actually believe the things you’re saying, but the more gullible and easily led on here respond well to hyperbole.

The alternative is empty stands as people buy season tickets and only go to 1 in 6 games when we play the bigger teams.
