How I would have loved that choice, IIRC when I was at school you were just told what GCEs you were doing
As a Brighton fan/resident . . . . In London . . .Drama, Home economics and interpretive flouncing/mincing should be compulsory Shirely?A few on here should choose drama
Art, Computing, English, History, LatinMy Year 7 son has been asked to think about his GCSE options.
The choice is so good at his (London) school, I want to go back!
Just for fun (no, really).... knowing what you know now, and with an eye on the future, which FIVE options would YOU choose?
I've excluded English, Mathematics and Science.
EDIT:
It messes up the poll but, for the record, students have to do:
Maths
English
A language (French, German, Latin or Spanish)
Science
History or Geography
And TWO from the list…
So if you picked Latin or Modern Language here, that would be your second/extra language choice.
And History/Geography would be in addition to Geography/History.
The only one missing is Additional Maths, which probably is offered to kids who are good at it.I will add mine now....but...
Bloody Hell.
So many subjects I did are missing.
For general interest these were my passes (I failed Ffrench.)
Maths
Additional maths
Physics,
Biology
Chemistry
Geography
History
Latin
English literature
English Language
Art
Sorry, yes.The only one missing is Additional Maths, which probably is offered to kids who are good at it.
It was never my intention to ask for advice!Should do the ones he enjoys the most, simple.
I was going to suggest the ones with the fittest teachers, it at least makes parents evening bearableIt was never my intention to ask for advice!
Thought it would be fun seeing where NSC is at, that's all.
See my note added at end of first point. Kids only choose two from the list really.
Year 7 at school isn’t age 7, no kids aged 7 are choosing these subjects. As a Brighton fan/resident . . . . In London . . .Drama, Home economics and interpretive flouncing/mincing should be compulsory Shirely?
at the age of 7 the only option most of us had was skateboard or bike, jeans or shorts . .if we were lucky! We didn't have a bloody clue what most of those subjects were, we were too busy playing conkers/marbles/football/off ground had/44 save all/climbing trees
Ha. This particular son once had a primary school teacher who was basically a better-looking version of Heather Graham. Incredible!I was going to suggest the ones with the fittest teachers, it at least makes parents evening bearable
I'd be inclined to suggest Comp science too, but so that he could help me with how to use my phone / laptop etc. But my son seems to know everything about that anyway, without having been taught anything. How do teenagers do that!I'm keen for him to do computer science so he can learn about algorithms and AI, to make sense of the ever-complex attendance restrictions applied to Brighton & Hove Albion season ticket holders in the year 2036.
Started unzipping until I discovered I'd skipped reading the word "Heather".Ha. This particular son once had a primary school teacher who was basically a better-looking version of Heather Graham. Incredible!
