It was only a question of time.
It's seemed inevitable for weeks.

Once again, this government failed to get in front of a story and ended up looking somewhat naive at best, or just downright stupid.

LBC (the O’Brien show) today, suggested the delay was because she’s a long term friend and ally of Starmer. Louise Haigh wasn’t, so it was easier.

Gifted a flat in London but unaware of the origins of ownership of it ?. Still not all the same though are they ?.
Seems fair enough. If I had to go around checking the prior ownership of all the London flats I get gifted, I’d never get a stroke of work done.

I’m surprised smug O’Brien would ever hear a word said against the Labour Party!
To be honest, I haven’t listened to his show for years and then, only when I was in the car. I often turned him off because I could only stand so much righteous shit.😀🤮

It was surprising. Although he did get in a baseless subjective dig against a link found in a Bangladeshi property raided by authorities.

Fair play when posting bollocks, you do at least put a disclaimer at the end.

:)
Just posting my view on having listened to him in the past. I generally found him to be a verbose self important prig. Yes, he was adept at putting down those less articulate and intelligent than himself, but in my very humble opinion, he seemed to take more pleasure in that than perhaps was ‘healthy’, which for me rather took away from any reasonable stance he may sometimes have taken.
No, I haven’t listened to him for some time, but I don’t suppose he has much changed his modus operandi. However, I stand to be corrected.
As for me posting bollocks, I will bow to your obviously superior opinion and in future will refer to you as Sir Clapham Gull.😁😏

Well, here's the problems Labour has to cope with today:

1. Working out a deal whereby IRA terrorists can get compensation if their paperwork wasn't right when they were locked up.

2. Working out a deal whereby the chagos Islands + billions of pounds can be given to Mauritius without the Chagos people having the right to listen in, and getting it done double quick so that Trump will be royally p***ed off with all that means for future relationships with the USA.

3. Sorting out the fallout from having a corruption minister getting too close to her subject.

Rachel Reeves and the economy isn't even in the top three of today's problems. Meltdown?

There right behind the working person with this, good old RR, someone to rely on:

Chancellor Rachel Reeves on Monday launched a bid to shield car loan providers from multibillion-pound payouts in a landmark mis-selling case, after the Treasury warned it could damage Britain’s reputation as a place to do business.

seems reasonable if you pay attention to the detail, Tresuary intend to say liability is limited to actual damages. which in most cases are negligible, as people take to loans because they want something and the payments suit them. who pays who what commissions doesn't make a difference to them.

The detail I paid attentopn to was "The judgment that it was unlawful for banks to pay a commission to a car dealer without the customer’s informed consent". In other words, some lenders were breaking the law. It's the whole commission thing and what you are paying and to whom, it has happened in other sectors before. Those guilty of breaking the law should be punished, including fines, to put off bad actors like Lloyds and Santander. Maybe the fines could help fill the black hole?

I've never paid interest on one of these car loans, but they seem like usury if you don't pay the balloon payment.
