You’re totally misunderstanding the proposal. Why not actually read it first before getting so wound up?
Because not understanding things but nevertheless insisting on sharing his foolishness on NSC is what he does

Precisely ... it's been stated on here countless times and yet round and around it goes ...
I can't believe this thread is still going. There is clearly genuine concern, all of which, as far as I can see, are addressed multiple times in this thread.

The rest feels like some of the usual suspects beating the club, as per.

There are many more like me, believe me. I leave on 85 minutes so I can amble to the P&R bus without getting shoved around, and there are many of us getting on the bus with sticks, walkers, and crutches.
I use Seagull Travel … one of the old double decker buses. We have a few older folk that get on with walking devices. We also have one chap that gets on on his own. Sits down and immediately falls asleep with head bowed. He only wakes up when we arrive at the Amex and he shuffles off to the game. Same again after the game. He gets on and falls asleep but somehow wakes up just in time for his stop. Although on one occasion we were at a stop on the way to the ground for a bit longer than usual waiting for a passenger. He woke up and must have thought we‘d arrived at the Amex as he got up … got off the bus … and started walking up the road. Our driver had to get off and go and fetch him. He never seems to miss a game … although how much of the game he actually sees, I have no idea.

Getting covid after 2pm the day before the game 5 times a season and being too ill to go (you’re not banned from attending if you have covid) would be pretty unlucky…………
Other illnesses are available :lolol:

If, on top of last minute illness of themselves or family members or baby sister, train strikes/cancellations, other transport issues, issues at work before evening games meaning you won't finish in time, migraines and catching Covid 6 times a year and always on the day of a gsme, the simple ownership of a season ticket is also causing anxiety, then a season ticket clearly isn’t the best option.
And this is the crux of it. Someone in that position will say that they still want their season ticket because it works out cheaper than paying for on the day tickets, but that's exactly the point, and why the club don't want season ticket holders who don't attend many games.

The only thing I think is a tad unfair is if you list the ticket on the exchange after 2pm and it sells, that shouldn't count towards your non-attended games.

Agree with all of this. Folk want the benefit without the comittment.

If I were chronically ill or regularly had family emergencies I would simply not buy a ST
If you're long term ill, then the individual needs to make a long term decision on their ability to commit to a ST. This is just life. But, if it's a temporary thing then the club will, and do, help you.

If my life pleasures are winding down, as they do, I wouldn't give up my remaining pleasures because of minor inconvenience to Brighton & Hove Albion. When you get old, or ill, the pleasure remaining to you become more valuable, not less.

It's a shame that this paragraph isn't better worded:

"This means you can attend, list for resale, share or upgrade your ticket but you cannot leave your seat empty for five or more matches."

Because clearly you can list for resale and your seat still be empty if it doesn't sell.

If you list your ticket for the club to sell, and it doesn’t - the club have left it empty not you!

Are you a fortune teller do you know when you will be ill or have a family emergency?
I'm willing to predict I will not have 5 family emergencies on the morning of a game in the next 12 months. I'm no Nostradamus though.

You only need one which will take up your time for months, where you can’t think straight, because you’re trying to,cope.

You can be incredibly unlucky with several family emergencies per season, that all happened to occur on the day before/of match-days, and still not be penalised.

I agree and I am sympathetic. But if there is an ongoing issue which temporarily affects your attendance the club will listen. If the issue becomes longer term, then personal decisions will have to be made.

So paying upfront for a ST isnt enough of a commitment. Sad that the club feel the need tograb as much £££ as they can in what this process is allabout. Though you canbuy 19 individual matchtickets and for illness late family emergencies etc notturn up for 5 or more and yet club wont punish you.

Certainly was in the Withdean era. Paying upfront gave the club a lifeline when they were on their uppers. But that was then and this is now. The ST game has changed. You can pay in instalments and the telly money dwarves the ST income. Surprised the club don't do away with them completely to be honest, I'm sure they'd like nothing better 😀
