Always massively unwise to took at the table and add 3 points to your total because you think you'll win the next game.
It's just going to be a bloody tough game, probably really physical and really congested. We've been crap at those type games. Let's see if Fab is a quick learner

We are already ahead of Everton, 354 would be their total but they had 8 points deducted last season so are only on 346.

Not so fast. Beat Bournemouth, Newcastle and Villa above us. The 8 'grim' matches are against teams who, in first half of season we took 9 points off in the corresponding fixtures By comparison, we have taken 7 points from 5 games against the bottom 4.
It is the Albion bogey that may destroy the dream: can't beat crap teams. I read somewhere that we have the worst record of teams with 5 consecutive PL seasons against promoted teams. Beating Ipswich helped, but I fear the 4 points chucked away against Wolves and Leicester (not to mention failing to beat Saints) may prove to be the season decider.
Our best hope is that the size of our squad will come into play at some point in near future. We have an awesome bench for most games (as pundits often mention) compared to Bournemouth, for example, who by end Saturday's game were down to subs who had never played a PL minute.
I am coming down for this! First home match of 2025 for me. Just booked a seat on the overnight sleeper. Nine hours of trying to sleep in a chair just to get to London. Hope the match keeps me awake, in a good way.

But what's grim for us? You could easily argue that we're better off playing the stronger sides (drew twice with Arsenal, beat City, drew with Forest but should have won, beat Newcastle, beat Bournemouth, got a point from Villa- a bogey team for us- away). Alright, we lost at Cole Palmer, but that was entirely down to our defence going crazy that day and giving the ball repeatedly to Cole Palmer's key player, Cole Palmer. We scored a couple and could have scored more. Don't forget: they have Sanchez in goal.
Right now there's only one on that list that I can say with absolute certainty that we'll lose no matter how we play and that is Fulham, just because they Fulham us every single time, no matter how much of an injustice it sometimes is.
Yup. The way we play football we're better off facing a good team having a bad day than a bad team having a decent day.
Looking forward to the final run after the Fulham game. Everton and Nottingham are going to be tough nuts to crack, Chelsea games could be great fun or terror, Southampton away is angst, Bournemouth at home a trap and Fulham game not even worth watching. But then finally the fun begins with Manchester City and onwards should be action packed games with great potential for upsets and other fun games (like Palace and West Ham).

Need 10 wins from Europe so anything less here pretty much ends the European chase given our fixtures left.
Just had a look at Everton's away form today.
They have scored a total of SIX goals away this season. They have only conceded 15 which less than us. They have also only won one game away.
Fair to say it's gonna be a dire affair if nothing else !!

Moyes always sits VERY deep for games against us. It will be a classic Dyche/Moyes mash-up. I suspect at least one sending off, elbows everywhere, multiple high balls into the box, and a Pickford masterclass. Hopefully we will be ready for it!

From memory we have a fairly decent record v Moyes, appalling v Dyche. I think the last Moyes team we faced was West Ham away 0-0 but we were better than them. The 5 goal disaster was Dyche, not Moyes, he works from a blueprint, they will come for a 0-0 and hope for a breakaway or set piece. We are better than them all over the pitch, need to fight for the right to show it.
Archie Grey got found out yesterday that he's not a CB, Ange chucking an 18 yo midfielder into that position against that opponent was negligent IMO, he cost them goals 1 and 3 just because he's not a natural defender. I HOPE our CBs wouldn't defend like that.
Everton though, awful, I don't look forward to this one - Pickford = absolute weapon who should have been carded yet again yesterday for flying at a player feet first. Tarkowski = thug.

Sadly this was my initial thought.
Honestly feels like Groundhog Day doesn't it - couple of marquee wins against big names/away from home, followed by playing a team WE SHOULD BEAT at HOME - "a chance to finally really kick on"
A win on Saturday would genuinely be HUGE.

Not so sure after watching them against Spurs. It is only one game and it was Spurs, but Everton started very much on front foot and stayed there for first half. What was encouraging was that they conceded twice, which is unusual. We have good record against Moyes, and I don't think he will park bus, in which case could be entertaining.
