There is no agenda, no double standard… I’m saying it as I saw it: Pervis had a poor game and got very lucky he didn’t cost us. Veltman was assured and saved us on at least two occasions in the first half alone.

The biggest concern is the inbalance in our tactics, which isn’t helping a yard off Pervis at all.
We’ll agree to disagree on your first paragraph, but then again you’re the one on here telling me my opinion is wrong, not the other way around. But if you don’t think there’s a double standard, you really haven’t been paying attention.

I totally agree re your second paragraph though. Estupinan is being asked to play an incredibly tactically complicated game, much in the way Hinsh was at the start of the season, and he’s clearly struggling. I’ve no doubt Estupinan would be just fine if he was being asked to play the same reserved role that Veltman is being asked to play.

Sure, but its also a lot easier being Joel Veltman.

On average positions, Pervis is 20-30 meters further up the pitch because he is expected to participate in our attacks. Meanwhile everyone is quite content that Veltman spends 90% of his games primarly defending. That, along with playing with the defensively-not-so-good Mitoma, makes his job more difficult than Veltmans.

And sure it will result in us conceding more on that side but we also (I think, haven't checked this season) produce more on the left side.
I can’t like this enough.

He's a candidate for a summer sale given his contract runs out in 2026 and there have been no whispers of extending it.

Forest for 30m is a bit underwhelming but that's still a healthy profit and his form has been patchy when fit over the last season and a half so we won't get much more than that.

Not inconceivable we sell in the summer but Nottingham... kind of doubt it. They look like they're going to be fighting in the same regions as us for the next few years.

Seems to have found his form again doesn’t he? Back to last season’s pre injury form imo. Keep it up!
Hm... I'm not Pervis out by any means, but the combination of last season's injuries and the lack of real competition at his position - admittedly exacerbated by Ferdi's absence - has been quite detrimental to his form IMO. Still think we should recall Barco if only to motivate Pervis to try harder to rediscover his old form and avoid overplaying him

Why would bringing back a player that's nowhere near strong enough to compete (yet) provide competition? Barco didn't go on loan because of cover, it was because he wasn't ready developmentally

Well, he's certainly not developing at Sevilla at the moment, finding a new loan club for him is proving difficult, and it's not as though we never keep players around who are not yet PL ready and give them minutes anyway. If Barco surprises us with how well he plays, it would indeed provide competition.
