He's still moving somewhere and the sources from Florens says England will most likely be his new destination. Us and Brentford are the only English clubs being linked to him.

Some news sites says Brighton wants to loan him until the summer with the option to buy. But Fiorentina thinks Kayode will burst into the scene in his new club so they don't want a premeditated deal, in case he gets a massive breakthrough with clubs queuing up to buy him in the summer.

We'll see what happens. Despite the lukewarm interest around this rumour in English media, I do feel like this is our most likely January signing.

Left out of the Fiorentina matchday squad today, reportedly ahead of a move to Brentford https://football-italia.net/kayode-fiorentina-squad-brentford/
Makes sense. We don’t touch buy-back deals.

When Lamptey came on today, I realised that he is probably leaving on a free in the summer rather than being sold for a few million this month. We’d not risk an injury this late into the window if we had any intention to sell.

Therefore, with Alberto Costa giving us a wide berth, my assumption is that Kayode is not someone we now require and that the priority is to get a centre back in, potentially Adarabioyo from Chelsea.

Whilst the injured Hinshelwood and Kadıoğlu can do a shift at right back, it turns out that Tosin can also play there as an absolute back-up:

I think that a right back menu of Velts, Lamptey, Kadīoglu, Hinshelwood and Adarabioyo should be fine for the rest of the season but obviously, we may have to sign Lamptey to a longer contract quite soon and eventually replace Veltman when his time comes.

I can’t see us signing anyone in this window. We spent a fortune in the summer and have plenty of cover all over the park. If anything, our squad is too big which is why the likes of Enciso and Ferguson are (allegedly) unsettled.

We do indeed have plenty of cover in most positions but I’m very worried about our centre backs with the injury records of Dunk and Webster this season. I think that the club should be too and if Naylor is to be believed, they are trying to do something about it.

Then there is the traditional ‘one for the future January signing’ where we seem to be looking at the Tzatziki fella.

Kayode would have allowed Veltman to move into CB.

Oh well, good on Brentford I think.

Is the lad from PSV still a possibility. I can see him signing a pre-contract, but we have four plus McConville.

I hope this doesn’t turn out like Livramento where we pulled out of the deal through the fear of a potential buy-back but should have taken the same approach as Southampton as Chelsea never came a knocking.

It seems that he is not value for money this month and would cost an awful lot when we could grab him for free in 5 months or so.
If PSV crashes out the CL I think we can get him for £1-2m and we may well go for that. But thats another ten days until then. If PSV remain in the CL they are not going to sell him so its also a bit chancey in case the club wants to bring in a CB now.

The final two sets of CL fixtures are intriguing. Stuttgart look like they could overtake PSV (and Zagreb) but PSG have it all to do with two incredibly tough fixtures. It might be that PSV loses the next two matches but still scrapes through to the next phase.
