Invited back to Lille for the club’s 80th anniversary celebrations.

Oh so that's why he got the second yellow, so he can bugger off for a few days. (Joke,)

Just checked, he was with them for 18 months, wonder how many other ex-players who had been there for 18 months got an invite?

He's one hell of a footballer and one hell of a character.

Another quite brilliant performance from him today. Remember a sublime take and battle his way through 2 or 3 United players in middle of park.
Well, apart from the penalty. He still has a bit to learn.

He has everything but that also incudes giving away penalties. Two this season. He needs to stop fouling in our penalty area and showboating at times (he tried this needless kick up thing that worked V Arsenal but completely unecessary today and we lost the ball). Considering he's virtually our only midfielder in 'Fab Ball' he's pretty amazing though.

I can only imagine that the yoof don't know it or it's not Tiktok friendly or something because, as you say, it's obvious, fun and unique.
I think this is the issue. It takes a lot more work to get a song off the ground if it’s unique and a different tune to the same repeated songs heard at every different ground, with the player’s name replaced.

I just think we haven’t got the kind of fan base that does that stuff very well to be honest.

It would take a co-ordinated effort for a group to be near each other, at a spot far enough back for everyone to hear, and everyone to know the words. So it’ll be La donna é mobile et al pretty much.

And he got a nice little chant as he was substituted and looked very chirpy at the end of the game as a result. Fair play to those around me attempting (without success) to get the "I'm a Belaba" song going.

Carlos Baleba he's our player
From Cameroon not Venezuela
Carlos Baleba heeeee's our player now
At least for now

OK yes, but from the moment that ball was given away we were in big trouble, not sure that one can be 100% laid at his door. On the other hand, if he learned a little more subtlety in the pen box he might come out the right end of those decisions a little more

I’m not hugely criticizing him, more an observation.

It's three now: Forest at home and Chelsea away before today.

My endlessly humming/singing/whistling roomie did "Baleba Baleba" to the tune of Carlos Santanas "Maria Maria".

Wasn't shabby but reminded me what a pointless song that is.

That was actually Georginio - I remembered it being a Baleba foul but it wasn’t recorded as such.
It isn't clear to see from the replays but both the Albion website, the Chelsea website and the Albion commentary on the extended highlights state it was for Baleba's foul.

Ha's 21, He will do things that you consider "completely unnecessary" . He's triple flick upsie was unnecessary against Arsenal but a thing of beauty.

FWIW this is from the PL website:

If we do consider it a Baleba foul that means he’s conceded more penalties than anyone else in the league this season.

Both are involved in the challenge that gave away the penalty at Chelsea but it certainly looks like Georginio made the foul in the videos online as he is slightly closer to the Chelsea player.
