Brighton, Brentford and Bournemouth are all in the "clubs you might have seen on your Championship Manager 01/02 LLM save and didn't expect to see again" category. Now bringing the unpredictability and strangeness to this league that could have easily been more or less frozen 20 years ago when the money started pouring in.

In the 1983/84 season, Cambridge United went on a run of 34 matches without a win in the league.

They played here on a Tuesday night in late February. The programme gave a welcome to 'any supporters who have managed to make a trip down through the Dartford Tunnel to join us this evening'

I took a quick glance at the away pen. There wasn't a soul in there.

3-0 win, as strange as it sounds. Cambridge's run eventually came to an end with a victory over Newcastle who actually went up !
