I see Watford have signed yet another player on loan from Udinese. How does their situation differ from ours in that they can still seemingly sign/sell/loan endless amounts of players between them but we got our ban ?. I know Watford had a full transfer embargo in 2023 for something else but I don't recall them having had a similar ban to us?.

Watford and Udinese are not, as such, in common control.

Watford is owned by Gino Pozzo.

Udinese is owned by Giampaolo Pozzo.

The fact that Giampaolo used to own Watford, and handed control and ownership over to his son, Gino, is... immaterial.

The transfer ban was part of the UEFA ruling that allowed both USG and Brighton to compete in European competition last season. Similar bans were given to Aston Villa & Vitória Guimarães, and Toulouse & Milan, some clubs also had to change ownership structure as well. Like TB handing over majority shareholding of USG to Alex Muzio.

This season the same transfer bans and onwership changes had to be made by Griona/Man City and Nice/Man Utd owners to allow them all to compete this season.

As Watford and Udinese are not both competing in the same UEFA competitions then there is no need for UEFA to get involved.

The transfer ban between us and USG is now over, so it remains to be seen if we will still use them for work permit and development loans (work permit rules have changed since the ban meaning it's easier to get players a work permit now so those type of loans are likely to be a lot rarer).

How many players have gone between us & USG? 3? Undav, Mitoma, adingra?

Simon Adingra, Kaoru Mitoma, Kacper Kozlowski, Alex Cochrane, Soufyan Ahannach and Percy Tau all had loan spells with USG. Deniz Undav we signed and loaned back for the rest of the season.

I believe we also wanted to sign Victor Boniface but the transfer ban stopped us from doing so and he went to Bayer Leverkusen instead.
