Has his new album on Radio 2 as record of the week.
I think it’s so shit that you’ll need to hear it.

Second string drummer in a boy band, wasn't he?

What did you expect, songs that sounded like they'd been written by Lennon or McCartney?

Does it reach the heights previously achieved by Octopuses Garden?

People take the piss out of him, which is fair game for his "singing" and songwriting but as a drummer he was great. Don't forget he was the only one of the Beatles who was actively recruited after they sacked Pete Best and appeared on post-Beatles albums by George and John.

There's a funny section in one of Danny Baker's excellent trilogy where he interviewed a boozy Starr in a local pub for NME at the launch of a crap new solo album.
Bloke doesn't seem to realise he releases shite records.

I'm a bit concerned that this might ruin the legacy of his best work

Much better than many give him credit for and many drummers point out that he played so many different drumming styles for the Beatles. Also, when you see some of the documentaries, they say that the way he was able to keep time during the live concerts, despite the noise, was amazing - especially considering there were no decent monitors and no IEMs that are in use these days - and he did this taking queues from how the others were playing.

Will Crapstal Palarsch use Ringo for making lots of noise to improve their atmosphere? Brighton, probably HELL no. Liverpool? They obvs don't need it this season. Maybe he'd like to be a Gooner drummer?
