On top of the world
IMO - average first half (they all were, except for Bart)

Excellent second half.
Yes, he seemed to struggle a bit first half, misplaced passes, poor positioning, but no worse than others. Some of the posts during the match thread, stating he was shit and should be hooked, were way over the top.

Much better second half and should definitely be a major part of our plans going forward.

Completely agree. I admit that he's been the surprise of the season so far for me. You sort of expect £40m odd Georginio to be pretty good.

But Ayari had those loans, which was underwhelming to say the least so I wasn't expecting much. But he really kicked off in the pre season and established himself in the squad.

Excellent work rate. Last night he was still full of running and closing down Ipsshit when we were 2-0 up and 5 mins to go.

Reminds me a bit of Kevin Keegan. Not overly skilled but carved himself a career at the top level with his enthusiasm, fitness and willingness to put himself about

I saw a game of two halves from Yasin last night. Exactly the same with the Norwich game. Loose in possession in the first half, vastly improved in the second.

Overall I think we have to be delighted at his progression this season. Last summer, I don't think many saw him holding down a regular place and really starting to kick on as a PL player. What I like is how he contributes at both ends of the pitch, often first receiver from the keeper and gets involved in this box, like for our first goal last night. Where I think he can improve is in the brutal, no space, middle park battles, like Palace home. Can he find a way to still be effective in those games? If he is going to take set pieces he needs to improve them

I admit I have a sneaking suspicion, that when Hinsh gets fit, he'll arm wrestle the shirt off him. But I think Yasin is well above Wieffer and O'Riley and I guess Gomez at the moment, so that still gets him a lot of football.

Has moments of really high quality but is inconsistent as you'd expect of someone his age. As his strength improves and he gets more game time he'll become a massive star. It's easy to forget he's gone from struggling to get on the pitch at Championship level to often more than holding his own against some of the best players in the world. Would he get in my first 11 with everyone fit? Probably not, but give it a season or two and he'll be one of our very best.

Personally I'd like to see Wieffer alongside Baleba above Hinsh and Ayari . Still loads to come from him and probably our second best player at winning back the ball.

Player who goes under the radar a little bit, but last night I thought he was by far and away man of the match. Absolute box to box performance so. Really pleased he’s kicked on after two poor loan spells.
Thought him and O'Riley were getting in each others way a lot. Once O'Riley went off he had a lot more space to expand his game.

O'Riley did well to set the first goal up, but feels like a luxury player at the moment. I hope he can find his niche, because we have seen flashes of ability, but needs to do more.

Ayari isn't getting everything right, but his tenacity makes up for shortcomings in other areas and it was good to see him finishing the game strongly. He has been hauled off at 70 minutes on a few occasions having run himself into the ground.

Think he’s underrated by some on here, possibly partly because of his build, which is slight.

He’s a skilled passer of the ball, and I can understand why in Wieffer’s absence he’s the preferred choice to partner Baleba. The question for me is whether he’ll still be preferred when Wieffer is fit.

My guess is he will be in games where incisive passing is prioritised, and won’t in games where athleticism is what’s required, but that’s just guesswork on my part.

Really hoping Gomez will be the solution next to Baleva

Hinsh when fit could be but as it stands Baleba having to do too much. I wouldnt want Baleba to get injured with what we have

Wieffer has shown a few bitsand pieces in the later games but still looks off it

CM is an issue at the moment

As hinted at above, I think he might need to bulk up a little, especially if played in a 2 - he got shrugged off the ball far too easily a few times in the first half.

No doubting his quality though, very neat player.

Brighton factually.....

Somewhat disagree with this, Keegan was a old school goal hanger add to that he did very little else on the pitch.
Ayari, is so much more than that already.
and willingness to put himself about
Let's not hope in the same way as Keegan did (allegedly) eh.

Ayari has been the improver of the season but as I said in another thread he is a microcosm of the team at the moment. Can be brilliant box to box or anonymous. Doesn't seem to play for 90 minutes and neither do we as a team.

I appreciate we can't be brilliant all the time but the variance in performance levels over 90 minutes are so vast I sometimes wonder if it's the same player.

An underrated player. Most of my mates are not fans at all, but I like him. When you consider pre-season he was very much a fringe player, he took his opportunity on the Japan tour to play himself into a first team squad spot, which for me was admirable.

Thanks to injuries Yasin has been called upon far more than was probably intended and for the most part has been pretty decent with the odd stinker thrown in for good measure. Good second half from him last night which a made a mockery of the many calls to hook him at HT.

Personally I want to see Wieffer fit enough to get a run in that position as I see him as the first choice, but Yasin has done a decent job filling in for the bigger name signings so far.
