Insert "It's Carlos Bal-Bal-Bal-Bale-e-e-e-Ba" after every five lines and it could catch on. Might need a drum and Vuvuzelas, mind

Have a read of Paul Simon's You Can Call Me Al lyrics. Completely meaningless.

Reminds me of Tony Hancock's The Poetry Society from 1959:

Rinky tinky on purple grass,
Shafts of light, hob-nail boots,
Tramping down the bamboo,
That grows upwards, downwards, sideways,
Into the Concrete Cosmos,
Life is mauve,
I am orange,
Hick, hack, hock.

The King of Rock and Roll by the dismal Prefab Sprout. I won't dignify it with a link.

i'm serious as cancer when I say Rhythm is a dancer

I really don't see how anyone can make any sort of correlation between musical sequences and choreography and a serious life threatening disease. I just hope it becomes a self fullfilling prophecy to whoever wrote the lyrics. Only then could it have, albeit ironic, meaning

Love in an Elevator

Whats the idea or message behind this song? is it the aspect of making love whilst in an elevator which seems completely unviable unless you are not overly bothered by other people taking the same elevator and risking being charged with gross public indecency. Or perhaps the songwriter felt he could squeeze in a quicky between floors? Either way, it´s as much challenging as it is totally pointless. And that's without even considering the complete casual mysogeny which I suppose we can let slide since it was released in the 80's

Brilliant song but as nutty as a box of frogs.

I mean, this is the first chorus:
Harry Truman, Doris Day, Red China, Johnnie Ray
South Pacific, Walter Winchell, Joe DiMaggio
Joe McCarthy, Richard Nixon, Studebaker, television
North Korea, South Korea, Marilyn Monroe

For a couple of albums, David Byrne of Talking Heads wrote word and sound association lyrics for their songs... But they sound perfect for the tunes, which are funk personified. The live versions of Burning Down the House, Slippery People, Once in a Lifetime, Crosseyed and Painless, Houses in Motion, etc. are kick-ass... especially during their 2 last tours in the early 80s with Bernie Worrell, Steve Scales, Alex Weir Andrian Belew and Nona Hendrix backing them up.

However, Byrne outdid himself when the group recorded a song whose lyrics were completely comprised of verses from a nonsense poem written by the early 20th-century Dadaist German Hugo Ball. Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you the timeless, forever fresh-sounding, booty-shaking, funkadelic dance stylings of I Zimbra:

I think that's called the trappings of success . . . . Or a big bag of Charles and a personalised number plate!

A lot of Carvan lyrics are pretty stoned . . .
