The nft artworks were always going to be a scam. I hope no one on here lost loads on them. I remember years ago going to Cheltenham with a load of footballers and they were all going on about the Apes (or whatever they were called). I am guessing they lost a few quid!

Interesting dip over the last few days before trump comes in. I wonder what will happen. If America suddenly embraces crypto then it could go nuts.

I don't think that's an "if", Musk and Trump are huge supporters of XRP, and XRP is the Ripple platform they aim to introduce into the whole international payments arena. I got in at 39p, it's now £2.10+. It could, of course, bomb back to 10p if this is all hot air!

lol is that what the XRP army is peddling these days? dont think Trump has ever mentioned XRP and Musk more likely to embed own chain into Twitter than be supporting someone elses platform. it's just another chain competing with a dozen others now.

Lots of XRP live chart videos on youtube late last night, but celebrations subdued because price didn't break $3. That would be a x6 since the US election, so for me £25k->£150k. As I write, it's edging higher at $2.86, so maybe pop open the champagne very soon.

I think we can trust Trump, Musk and others in the administration not to just talk things up for the benefit of their own holdings or gain.

Evening nsc sages. I'm thinking about investing in "bitcoin" for the first time. Any advice or suggested resources for a newbie?!

I will say what I always say. I know little about it so use SwissBorg which is simple. They have some thematics which I have bought some of “best blockchains” and “crypto stars” and then you just do nothing. It buys bundles of coins rather than all eggs in one basket. Don’t stake what you can’t afford to lose and take profits. That’s it. Good luck. As I said I know little but done okay so others might offer actual advice.

On SwissBorg you get early access to some coins. I took a punt ages ago on MNXA which is linked to a game dark machine. And anime Japanese thing. Paid .05 dollars per token I think (about 200 quid’s worth). I think it goes live tomorrow so I am intrigued to see how much I lost or made. Complete gamble.

I would stick to Kraken or Coinbase in terms of buying.for the first time. They are more established / "regulated"

Learn about the bitcoin 4 year cycle, read about DCA strategies, read the Satoshi whitepaper, read about CEXs and DEXs and hardware wallets. Good luck!

What ever exchange you use, the main thing you need to know is to back up your seed phrases and not in an icloud / google / ms shared folder. This is essentially your keys and if you loose them, you loose the game. If someone gets them, they can get all your crypto.

Bitcoin specifically, do not buy to try and trade, do not buy and obsess over the short term gains and losses. Buy for the long term and year on year it's likely to out perform most assets.
