Asked petrol cashier “Why, randomly, when filling up the nozzle cuts out sometimes but not other?”

It’s because if you let your tank get low, air fills in and the censor on the end of the nozzle is triggered believing the tank to be full.

“Thanks Petrol guy! Well, I never knew that…” :)

I somehow started reading an article the other day about the benefits (or not) of using sunscreen to stop your skin ageing (too late for me!). Apparently it's UVA radiation that causes skin damage, whereas most sunscreens just stop UVB radiation (the type which causes skin cancer). The SPF number just refers to how well the sunscreen protects against UVB. So - if you are also concerned about skin damage (from an ageing perspective) you need to check the UVA rating (which should be at least 4-star). Perhaps I'm the only person who didn't know that!
[Also, the article says that pretty much no UVB radiation reaches us in the UK in the period from October to March, as the sun is too low in the sky. But UVA is still a danger, so still worth using a five-star rated UVA block sunscreen in the winter]

I never knew this either. But then again, I've only once bought sunscreen once in my life - and it im/exploded in my bag in the aeroplane - so I had sunblock lotion all over my clothes. Never bought it again - I prefer a hat!

The arrow on your petrol indicator points to the side the cap is.
