I have got a quote for some new work and included as an option is bonding cable to gas and water supplies.

These were signed off in 2013, but I have no idea where the water one is I don't have a stopcock and have to turn the water off in the street.
The gas one is still attached to the pipework for the old gas meter, which was replaced, when the gas mains in the street were renewed about two years ago. The team who installed the new gas meter convinced me this was perfectly ok.

Is this all a bit picky, or should I just pay again for bonding cable? Ignoring the water for a minute (there must be a cable somewhere), does the gas cable really need to be relocated to the new gas meter?

The bonding cable will be connected to the gas pipework within 45cm of where it exits the better (iirc though I'm close I'm sure).
Changing the meter should have made no difference.

The meter has been relocated and the bonding cable is still in the old location. I suspect this makes no difference from a safety perspective, but doesn't strictly meet the regs.
