"Remember when Manchester United jacked up the cost of tickets for members from around £40 to £66 for the rest of the season? And, for good measure, scrapped the £25 concession for children and asked them to pay full price too? Of course you do. It was barely six weeks ago, on 27 November.
But, without fanfare or it being reported anywhere, that policy has been quietly dropped for Thursday’s match against Southampton at Old Trafford, along with the Ipswich game next month. Adult tickets are now £48. Under-16s are £25. And the further cost to Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Ineos’s reputation for competence? Incalculable."

Good for the fans making voices heard. Utd supporter told me next 2 are mid week and unusually have not sold out. Also told me talk of reducing number of STs so could sell more at inflated prices.
The only way fans can get over message is not to turn up for a game. but wont happen

Yep. United have 50K season ticket holders and there's talk by some fans that all owners - including plenty on here - want to reduce the number of ST holders as daytrippers, one off fans are more protfitable. A lot of this is just noise at the moment and there are just a few signs that this is where things are headed (eg: clubs stopping concessionary tickets etc) . . Albion certainly don't have any active plans for that.
Its also very risky especially , as the article points out, if your form or the economy starts to struggle.

It's supply and demand - they don't give a flying **** what the fan's voices say

It's more to do with the away teams turning down their full allocation and therefore Manchester United having more tickets to sell in relatively little time, so the prices have been reduced.

£48 to watch Southampton for a child is still expensive.

I wouldn't be surprised if they stopped away fans, because of capped ticket prices, cost of police and no shopping in club shop.
