Certainly hope so. I've been to Val Gardena skiing in that area and it's not the sort of place I would have thought of for hiking in January.

Looks like the worst possible scenario unfortunately, the bbc reporting a body has been found and it's believed to be one of the two men.

Unfortunately not good news coming out this morning. One body found and searches continuing for the other hiker.

The last known location of Aziz Ziriat and Samuel Harris was near a mountain hut close to the town of Tione Di Trento, on Lake Garda. The alarm was raised when they failed to check in for their flight home to the UK earlier this week.

My lad works for the Palace For Life Foundation and Aziz Ziriat was a good friend and colleague of his. His body remains undiscovered. Such a tragedy that has naturally upset the team working for the Foundation.

This is very sad. My thoughts are with the families of the two missing hikers.

I’ve been close to similar instances in the past and it’s awful to go through.

The bodies of a couple of my friends who disappeared near Chamonix (nobody aware until they didn’t come home) were never found.

I have also watched a friends body being recovered after he fell. At least his family know what happened, even though I had nightmares about it for years.

I’m in neighbouring Colfosco just now.

There’s a big thing these days of winter hiking in The Alps. We see many off on their travels.
