Well, it was only a prediction so let’s see…….I disagree. My industry is heavily regulated, for good reason. it’s fine and has raised standards, good practice and quality immeasurably.

Of course, this is the big danger; that the regulator is rather ineffective and in the pocket of the organisations he is regulating. A risk worth taking though, particularly since the EPL bosses don't want one. In fact, that is clearly the reason why there should most definitely be one.A regulator you say? Like OFWAT? What could possibly go wrong.
Ultimately an attempt to make a workable regulator is much better than the alternative, PL owners doing what they want.Of course, this is the big danger; that the regulator is rather ineffective and in the pocket of the organisations he is regulating. Thanks - I get it, it's literally just us! I also understand that they will (and should) prioritise higher impact issues but at some point it needs to get done!!! This emphasises my point though, £9.76 a day isn't worth their concern. TalkTalk customer service is something beyond anything I've ever experienced, it's just pathetic, no wonder they're going bust. Not that this will help you but Openreach's engineering footprint has reduced year on year and when stuff like storms hit, well, you could be waiting a while.
OFCOM are one of the better regulators out there in reality. With presumably few people affected as you live remotely you will be lower down the queue as they will order fixes on a revenue loss even if they say they don't
Don't hold your breath mate.
"We’ve two choices with those costs. We either stop doing some of the things we’re already doing, whether that’s academy, women’s, girls’ football or whatever, or we pass those costs on to fans."
That makes two things on which I now fundamentally disagree with PBOBE - this, and his obsession with people not passing a ticket to a family member or mate if they can't go, with draconian penalties for anyone caught trying it.
Which no one was complaining about when we were losing nearly £20M the season we got promotedI mean... there are more than that aren't there. There's a clear third choice here which is just make less money.
We’ve (well, Tony has) lost money in virtually every season since the Amex opened. A couple of profitable recent seasons does mean it will always be that way………I mean... there are more than that aren't there. There's a clear third choice here which is just make less money.
Says a lot doesn't itParish and Bloom got an absolute grilling in the select committee that really made them (two of the better owners of Premier League football clubs) look quite selfish
There are only a certain amount of times you can see The Lion King as the ending is always the same.
Education and certainly social care probably a bit more under staffed and under funded than the Premier League though....LOL. My next door neighbour works for the CAA in a senior capacity and we’ve had numerous discussions…….I couldn’t disagree more on aviation. I’m now experiencing it in education and social care. It’s not materially different
Also, I didn’t say it wasn’t needed
Because ticketing issues are already covered by a regulator in this country - The Competitions and Markets Authority. If there is a sufficient issue in how ticketing is administered for events, it is investigated and regulated by the regulator - see the current investigation into Ticketmaster re: dynamic pricing. They can, and have, been involved in Football as well but just to ensure that organisations aren't channelling tickets through re-sales at a profit and to ensure that there is no conflict of interests in mergers and takeovers. So why are you not shouting for a regulator of the West End Theatres where top price seats can now be £300 or more with no concessions for pensioners.
Agree….I meant in terms of the regs, how they are audited, the amount of work that needs to be done to maintain and demonstrate compliance and the utter ballache of dealing with the regulatorsEducation and certainly social care probably a bit more under staffed and under funded than the Premier League though....
Managing in adult social care and dealing with CQC, God I hated dealing with them due to lack of time, staff and resources but if I was a Premier League funded Compliance manager ? Doubt it would be quite so stressful..
I'm going to save you some grief and merge this into the existing thread...PB: "We either stop doing some of the things we’re already doing, whether that’s academy, women’s, girls’ football or whatever, or we pass those costs on to fans".
