If it is genuine, I wonder if some of it stems from the club starting to have injury concerns about Dunk?
As he’s got older he appears to be picking up more niggles and knocks. He wouldn’t be the first player to reach 32/33 and then have stop-start seasons due to injury.

We are not gonna get an experienced player with all those top level appearances with pace in our wage bracket. They don't exist, unless you have any suggestions.
We don't need more "steel and experience" in defence, already have oceans of it. Dunk, Veltman, Lamptey, Igor, Webster, Pervis all got 5+ years of playing in the top 3 leagues in the world. We have all the experience we need in that area and if anything, we need to bring in more talent that can challenge these experienced players.
Eric Dier is a decent player but imho a 31-year-old defender on a similar level as our current ones isn't something we need right now.
