Thing that annoys me is he is soooooo slow, never looks to feed the runners for a quick break and you can hear the frustration building from the stands when he sits on the ball for ages waiting for attackers to press him, even when some teams have no intentions of doing so

While this can be frustrating, I don’t blame the player for this as this is clearly an instruction. I’d like FH to change this and tell the keeper that while this is the standing rule, to use his judgement if and when a break is clearly on

You may notice. I'm not barts biggest fan. I don't dislike him, but I don't rate him in the best 10 of the current Premier league keepers (has potential to be). Having watched the highlights- I hadn't realised how bad an effort his save was for their goal last night. He made a good stop from the offside chance before. His handling was better & kicking worse than normal. But he made a hash of it for the goal. & he has cost us some points this season. I'd love him to go for big money to man u or bayern etc.
I thought he could've done better for the goal, watching it live and directly behind the Arse player's shot. But I'll reserve judgement and wait until the replay. I also think he's made more mistakes playing out from the back than Steele ever did, but he's young and learning, so I forgive him a lot.

The biggest issue I have with your post is the final sentence. If you think he's shit, then why or how would he go for 'big money'? And if he did go for 'big money', he's probably not as bad as you're making out!

I don't think he's shit. But he's not (yet) a top level keeper & there's plenty about that can do as good a job.

Only big money as in the last week I've read reports of those teams being interested in him. Young keeper on a contract to a big team = big money. & that's fine by me. He may be a great - but those teams make big money mistakes too (man u & chelsea certainly do)- who is right? (Probably not me - but I think we could sell for good money & replace with similar for a lot less. & that is our business model)

But surely that's coming from the manager? If Fab doesn't want him to do that, he won't.

The lack of urgency (& pace of passing) starts there & spreads through the team

i think it’s only fair to mention that bart has let in several very saveable goals, and should’ve done better with last night’s goal, especially given we’ve frequently talked about steele’s shot-stopping abilities on here. main culprit last night however was definitely igor (again), who went gallivanting forward, missed the tackle (again), was miles out of position and then inexcusably started just jogging back (he wasn’t even in the TV picture when they scored)

Smashed at him hard & low. I’m not going to criticise that goal too much. It happens.
Yep. You have to criticise pervis, igor, jpvh & ayari / baleba 1st for allowing the play & shot to come in. It was a tight angle & straight through him unfortunately

He was out of position but wasn't alone. Igor was covering for pervis who wasn't at left back doing his defensive job. Jpvh should have gone across earlier to stop the shot (which of course would mean the player has to pass to the striker jpvh has had to leave) & ayari (& baleba) let the runner go through midfield without following him - so a few at fault there & not solely igor

Wasn’t the greatest attempt of a save you will ever see but he was 7 yards out having been given a free run from pretty much on the touchline there is plenty of players to point the blame at before we got to that point.
The save from the offside shot was outstanding
The holding onto the ball is clearly instructions. He’s doing as the manager asked. Same as 2nd half when he went more direct clearly based on instruction.
Handling was decent yesterday the claim from one corner in the 2nd half was very good.

Has the potential to be one of the very best in the PL. He’s not even close to his prime and the more he plays the better he will be.

I too am looking at the defenders there rather than the goalie. For Bart, it's the space under his body he can't get an arm or leg to.

Mostly it's van Hecke right? I know Igor was done by a one two, but why are we backing off and letting the lad shoot from a few yards?

Ultimately Sanchez is the one who got away. Didn't suit RDZs extreme style, but for every other manager, I don't think there is a better shot stopper in the Premier league. You can argue about his footwork, his distribution (although he does look to get it released quickly and has a great long pass on him), his aerial ability and his mardy face. But I want my keeper to be a shot stopper and he's bloody good at that.

No, it's absolutely Igor. He was in an attacking midfielders position making an attacking midfielders challenge. Went totally awol. He was miles from our defensive line with half the team between him and them . Absolutely criminal.

Meanwhile JP was in totally the right place, if his defensive partner was there. As he had gone on a wander, however, yes JP could have reacted sooner and moved across, pulling Veltman into a Cb position and taking a chance on leaving left back unattended. That's something he needs to learn, adapting when everyone around you is f***ing up. But the blame is on Igor.

Understatement on the goal. No way should the ball be squirming under his body.

He’s still a good keeper though, he’s only getting better over time.

Please stop the drag back thing, no point, it is not creating any space and removing the chance of fast counters. All this is doing is allowing time for the opposition to become organised.
