[Albion] Best second half at the Amex since…?

I said this on the match thread but I didn’t think we were that great in the second half. Against city we created so many chances. We were outstanding . Today we created very little, aside from the penalty their keeper literally didn’t have a save to make. Arsenal were average and we did well to get a point but I’m surprised by people claiming it was a great performance second half, it really wasn’t.

A bit of context though: Arsenal are second and won 4 on the bounce scoring 12 goals, and theyve conceded the 2nd fewest goals in the league. It wasn't the best half ever, but we did very well to sustain pressure and control the half albeit without being able to create too much. Cheer up!

We were certainly much better in the second half but that was as much to do with Arsenal not bothering to put the game to bed and being more focussed on diving and wasting time. We still created very little and got a dubious penalty.

Thought it was a woeful game - worst Arsenal performance against us for some time. For all our possession in the second half, didn’t think we looked like scoring except for that Veltman run that set up Minteh. Of course we couldn’t apply the finish cos we rarely do at the moment. Two out of form teams fashioning the worst game of the weekend, deserves to be last on MOTD but I guess they want to give Arsenal a kicking

Two out of form teams? Arsenal are 2nd in table, 2 points off top in the last 10. lol.

Yes the Prem is a lot weaker at the top this season, you’ll notice Liverpool running away with it? A few weeks ago we could have gone second if we’d have beaten the worst team in the league 🤣

Arsenal winning 4 on the bounce and scoring 12 before tonight is hardly out of form
Not the best but certainly not the worst game of the weekend, and besides, Everton have that game reserved every week anyway

Yes except you’re completely ignoring they resembled more Stoke than Arsenal tonight 🤣 and is this the same Everton that Arsenal couldn’t score a goal against at home a couple of weeks ago? Yeh they are flying right

Yes but that could also be something to do with how we set up and played. I'd call being 2nd, winning 4 on the bounce while scoring 12, and having the 3rd best attack and 2nd best defence in the league doing pretty well (albeit not as well as last season) but you continue being overly negative if it makes you happy

Iam the ultimate pessimistic old fool BUT that was a brilliant 2nd half of football from both teams (I really dislike Woolwich) but thought we played really well and gave it a good “go “ vs a side that will finish 2nd

I think the weather helped us in the second, we seem to do better when it is pissing it down and the game gets a bit scrappier.

The subs made the difference. Stronger and more direct. We started to run at them and force them back. It was a clear momentum shift. I thought it was a good second half performance and a more than worthy point.
Encouraging signs in the last two games that our mojo is starting to come back. Need a win v either Ipswich or Everton and it will kick-start a good finish to the season.

Wouldn’t say no to a win against either but let’s face it the only nailed on win this month is against Utd
