What was the Honey West thing about?

Was it similar to us singing 'Does you missus know that you're here' (ABBA) to Shilton when he was caught having an affair?
Was to Oh My Darling Clementine rather than ABBA. Same as when we sang “where’s your finger Charlie George” after he lost an argument with a lawnmower.

Don’t remember Marley being chanted, I do remember him having the nickname Whoopi though.
Me neither
Was at Leicester away in the league cup or whatever it was called and Peter Smith was playing and a couple of lads sitting behind me where call him “Buzz” I asked them about it and they said they had all been friends with him since childhood and that he was always known as The Buzzard and that’s what I called him from then on
Stuart Munday’s great strike and Kurt Nogan
1-3 if I remember correctly Jimmy Case sent off for 2nd yellow for delaying when taking a corner

I don't know. I thought the presentation of a handbag was because West was cultured (and therefore, according to football code as was till, er, last week, a 'poofta'). I'll check with my pal Bob the retired social worker, who was probably at the match (Liverpool for pleasure, Everton because there was nothing else to do when Liverpool were playing away).

Okay, here goes - the Compendium of Football Fan Songs of the 1970s, altogether now :

You’re Gonna Get Your F***ing Heads Kicked In

You’ll Never Make The Station

In your ———— slums (insert opposition location and dustbin)

We Had Joy, We Had Fun, blah! blah! We Had ———— On The Run (Insert Opposition Fans)

We Hate Nottingham Forest, We Hate ———— etc (you know the rest)

There are loads more, someone else can over!

That lot definitely ages you!😂

Anyone remember ‘tip toe through the North stand’? Can’t remember the rest 😔

A one off favourite was Southampton at home: ‘where’s your finger, where’s your finger, where’s your finger Charlie George? in a flymo, in a flymo, in a flymo Charlie George’.
(You had to be there 😉)

This one is one I really hate. It just isn’t funny. Fans just sing it out of habit. Not that long ago I was at a non league match at Leamington and the away fans sung it. Granted a bit of the bottom end of town is not great but the idea that Royal Leamington Spa is a shit hole is ridiculous.

Another unfunny one is when oppo fans have a drum. I go to quite a few Brackley matches in non league and you know it is coming. “If you can’t bang a woman bang a drum”
I was on a train back from Falmer when a Fulham fan started singing "Brighton's a s*ithole, I wanna go home" and his mate remonstrated with him saying "I like Brighton actually". Also, this chant can be factually accurate, for e.g. "Croydon's a s*ithole, I wanna go home". Fair enough in my book...

If we'd sung it at Fulham - especially last season - I might have joined in if only because I live nearby and would rather have been at home

and they got it from Udinese….. who got it from Aris Salonika…..who got it from Gremio…. who got it from Uncle Tom Cobbley….etc etc

Surely, SURELY it was invented by Crystal Palace, like all original football chants were?

I'm not a fan of this "football in a library" stuff. Probably funny the first time it was sung, but not the 578,000 times since.

Whatever happened to "shit ground, no fans"?
