Decided to dig out some old UFO albums. I know they had a lot of success, but they didnt really get the full credit they deserved did they?

So many classic albums, currently listening to The Wild, The Willing and The Innocent. Arguably one of the finest live albums in Strangers in the Night.

Happy Fridat everyone.

Good thing for the band the US government is now calling them UAPs. Unidentified Aerial Phenomena.

Avoids confusion, otherwise people will Google the band and think the singer is bright green with antenna on his head.

Phenomenon is great. My band did a cover of Doctor Doctor when I was 16.

Just reading the autobiography of Bernie Marsden who started his pro career in UFO. They were on the bill at the Reading Festival 1980 but sadly like much of that weekend I don't recall their performance.

Not totally au fait with their back catalogue but Strangers in the Night is a classic live album. Being a Maiden fanatic obviously enamored of the live version of Doctor Doctor from that album as has been their pre show track for years. By all accounts Pete Way was one of Steve Harris' bass guitar heroes.

Always been a fan of Michael Schenker post UFO particularly the live at the Budokan Album. Love the flying V 's and that signature tone with the half cocked wah pedal. Michael also lives in Brighton.

And here's a Metallica doing a great acoustic cover of a UFO song :)

Great band. A few of the band lived in Brighton too, I believe Phil Mogg still does. I bought him a half at the Great Eastern a few years ago after my friend and I badgered him into accepting a drink. Rumours are that Schenker lives or had lived in Hove also.

A great example of classic rock that crossed the divide between the 70s and 80s.

I too live and breathe all things Maiden.
Saw UFO in the early 80s and 'doctor doctor' live was a true thing of beauty.
As was going to see Judas Priest in Southampton who were supported by a band hardly anyone had heard of but emptied the bar and still remain the only support act I've ever seen get 4 encores. The magnificent Paul Dianno and MAIDEN punk:

Saw them at Hammersmith in about 1980... they were ok, decent noise, I only had one album of theirs, the controversial and ambiguous cover... Force It.... still have it a box upstairs.

Speaking of UFOs, the Rezillos are playing Ropetackle in March. I never got round to seeing them so I'm hoping to go. Need to check whether Faye Fife is still with them (as she went all "country" for a while and that I do not need!)

UFO were the second band I saw live and completely blew me away. It was around the time that Strangers in the Night was released and I bought several albums afterwards and lots of MSG, too.

I hadn’t realised Mogg lives in Brighton. He possessed one of the finest set of tonsils I’ve heard live. Does he still have hair? 😳😂

'Lights out' (the track) was a floor-filler at The Hungry Years - couldn't move for air-guitars and head-banging
