[Albion] How would you be setting up our attacking line?

So the goals have dried up. We're shelling chance after chance after chance

Who would you have in the attacking 4 and where would you have them?

The way I see it ....

Pedro - Can't lead the line nearly as effectively as he link the midfield to the attack
Ferguson - Not in squad, and hasn't shown any form recently
Adingra - Had a poor season so far. He had a chance on his favoured left at the end and underwhelmed
Minteh - Had a mixed season. Some nice moments and goals, but his inexperience has been exposed badly at times
Rutter - Very promising start, tailed off and featuring and contributing less
Enciso - Odd game today, but even when bad, seems to have something about him

I'd be looking to build the attacking line around Gruda on the right, who I think looks a real prospect and Mitoma on the left who hasn't hit the heights, but you just know will contribute if you can get him on the field

Then the main striker. Whilst Danny is injured, it has to be Pedro doesn't it? He's been poor, but he's there because we have no choice. I mean, there are exotic options such as promoting Duffus, or installing O'Riley as some sort of hold it up player. But nah. It still has to be Pedro leading the line, no matter how badly he's done

The no 10 position? I feel Rutter has done enough to be warranting starts. Enciso to get plenty of chances from the bench

As for other players? I think Solly is a full back now. Gomez who knows, but he's not a striker and that is what we need

Give Mitoma a bit of time in the middle? He came inside a few times tonight and he scares the defence. When he's out wide, they can push him further out, or foul him without too much consequence. If he ran at them from inside - he could cause far more problems.

I'd have realised Gyokeres was great, kept Undav and played him, kept Sima and played him, made Maupay a better striker, kept Connolly off the streets......

Oh I don't know, but we just seem to have such a blindspot with striker development / selection / retention.....

It's all so reliant on Welbeck really..he just makes the whole thing gel and everyone looks lost without him

Ferguson may be out of form but he's an out and out striker and has already shown he's got what it takes to score goals in the PL.

He ain't gonna score goals sitting on the bench and I have no doubt he'd have buried at least one of Enciso's 8 feeble attempts in the first half.

We need to buy an experienced striker in January who knows where the goal is. Ideally one that isn’t prone to injury too. I have said this so many times that I sound like a broken record but we still haven’t done it!

The problem is Fergie in his current state goes missing and wouldn’t have had anywhere near eight chances to shoot.

At least Enciso affects games, he clearly cares and is trying to make things happen.

Not exactly had a great deal of service in his cameos under Fab though has he? He's not an Ensico he's a striker.

I'd like to see either a central trio with no wingers but perhaps wing backs (a 3-4-3 or 3-4-2-1) or one with two mobile wingers and a false nine (JP) in the middle to "activate" them.

Currently we're often 4 or 5 up there but I think less is more given the kind of players we have. It often looks crowded and congested when we attack with several players just doing nothing but waiting to get the ball.

Personally I’d start by selecting a midfield, one that has more than just Baleba in, a midfield that can shield the centre backs, carry the ball forwards, play passes for wingers to run onto.
Yes agreed , we need another defensive midfielder, then when might start controlling games , be more effective in stopping opponents breakaways, and actually look like a well balanced team,

At home, we need a proper 9. Pedro is not that, he's totally wasted. If Welbs is injured it has to be Ferguson. There was absolutely no Plan B last night... We basically took off some tricky wingers and replaced them with other tricky wingers. Sometimes it would be nice to be able to pump a cross in the box and have someone who can head it.

We bought a million attacking midfielders all of whom see want to do the same thing as our existing attacking midfielders.

Squad looks very unbalanced and one dimensional

Before the season started we were told that Fab liked to cross balls in as a plan B. Ferguson's form is possibly making this tricky. We were also told that he played a flexible back three system. Something is stopping him playing this too.

I wonder if he feels like he doesn't have the personel to play his preferred system and is trying to work out how to play a 4-2-3-1 and incorporate his ideas.

It is all taking time, hopefully if we can give them this time it will all come good.
