Problem is, after two seasons of excitement Albion are seemingly consolidating after a bad end to last season (almost relegation form second half of the season). Lots of new players, new manager etc. That's the simple overview.

Nearly all our new signings in that £200m had never played at this level before, with many being bought for their development potential, less likely their immediate impact. They have to be given more time, as the manager does, to develop during the season. We have been really unfortunate with injuries (again) - more time lost than any other Prem team apparently in minutes lost, and added to this has been a complete lack of consistency in team selection, leading to little regular cohesion.

I know everyone wants success yesterday but that ain't the TB way. It's also likely that a few of the new additions just won't make the grade - that's the gamble you take when signing so many players in one window.

For all the chopping and changing of starting 11's and the injuries we've suffered I personally think 10th place mid way through the season is pretty decent, especially as we have a very inexperienced manager to boot. Half glass full for me.

We spent loads of money on kids. As they'll make us loads of money over time and we made a profit when everyone else was fùcked by PSR. Tony LITERALLY said as much this summer.

That may not sound like a satisfactory answer to anyone incapable of dealing with the idea they've been duped by their own entitlement and expectation.

But whaddyagonnado?

Well make money on them because they’ll have spent time at a PL club and played in the PL. it’ll increase their value from what it was anyway.

My worry is that they all need to improve and yeah at the moment they all look pretty average and it’s worrying that some don’t seem to be improving much so far. Some will improve but some may not. Even average players get sold on for profits though, even small ones.

Or…. We’ve invested in young players & a young manager that need time. We all said at the start of the season about patience, but now it’s just stick the knife in at every opportunity.

When it clicks it’s going to be something special.

I wish I had the answer.
Only two of our starting eleven - O'Riley and Gruda - were "new players".

Two subs - Minteh and Georginio - were "new players".
