Naylor says wellbeck won't play the remaining games this year. Interesting wording.
Fab is OBSESSED with processes!

"When you take painkillers the pain, of course, is not that bad, but if you don't feel as though there is a process, an improving feeling inside of your body, then you have to take care of your body.

Wonder if Brentford will test our sieve of a defence in the first minute of play. Not seen that from them in a while.
That was a bit of a quirk, although we have scored quickly following opposition goals since. All the same, glad I witnessed two of the 3 first minute goals in person!

The mood for this evening is generally subdued amongst Bees fans, a mixture of our tough time on the road this season and yet another injury "crisis". It's most noticeable in defence, as shown in the list below, but players like Jensen and Thiago are also big misses for us.

Rico Henry
Aaron Hickey
Kristoffer Ajer
Ethan Pinnock
Sepp van den Berg
Mathias Jensen
Igor Thiago
Josh Dasilva
Gustavo Nunes

Brentford will fancy their chances. Hopefully they will loosen up to allow a decent game and for us to do our thing. I am expecting a much better performance than last time out.

If you want to play any team to reverse a poor run of form it's us. You're welcome.

I think this is the first 'must win' of the season.
Next up....
Villa away = we never get a thing there.
Arsenal home = tough.
If we don't get 3 points tonight then we could easily be looking at 8 games without a win, which would leave European ambition in tatters and mounting pressure on Fab and the team.

This is nothing like 2018 though when we picked up about 5 points out of 45, back then our form and general play was dire, we're playing OK, in fact more than OK in spells. I'm still not really sure how we failed to beat WHU last weekend.

Good track record against the Bees, and their away performance this season has been poor, but I'm feeling anxious about this one. We've wasted this run of 'easier' fixtures, and Villa and Arsenal are next. Tonight matters. We need turn it around, or I see us well into the bottom half of the table very shortly. 🤞

Feels like both sets of fans have similar expectations. Without Veltman and Welbeck we look and play like an Under 21 team. The latter is out and the former may not last the full 90.

Since promotion, my record when watching league games in person is:

W4, D1, L0

F5, A0

I'm going tonight.
Futbulogy has picked out three “on this day” games I’ve been to for me today. All at home, all against London clubs and all won:

Palace in 1980 (W 3-2)
Barnet in 1993 (W 1-0)
QPR in 2016 (W 3-0)
